None of the gossip I’m hearing makes much sense. Some people say no more than 1,000 drivers nationwide took the offer. Where I am, they’re actually looking to hire more. In other places, people are apparently complaining about too much OT because they’re understaffed. And yet, everyone keeps talking about more layoffs coming. I’m honestly confused, and scared for my job, no matter how much I don’t like it.

Is Dell Technologies Quietly Exploring a Sale?
In a surprising turn of events, industry insiders are whispering that Dell Technologies might be weighing its options for a potential sale. While no official statements have been made, sources close to the matter suggest that preliminary conversations with private equity firms and potential strategic buyers have quietly begun behind closed doors.
Dell, a long-standing giant in the PC and enterprise hardware space, has seen its business evolve dramatically in recent years. With growing competition, ongoing market shifts, and recent volatility in tech stocks, some speculate the company may be exploring ways to unlock shareholder value or streamline its sprawling operations.
Fueling the rumor is Dell’s relatively quiet stance on recent earnings calls regarding long-term strategic plans, as well as unusual movements in its stock price and insider activity. Some analysts believe a sale, or even a significant restructuring, could be part of a broader strategy to respond to tightening margins in hardware and the growing dominance of cloud-native infrastructure providers.
Of course, without confirmation from Dell or involved parties, all of this remains speculation. Still, in an industry known for its rapid consolidation and bold moves, the possibility of Dell being up for sale is one worth watching closely.
Stay tuned.
First Walgreens, now Target is also being looked at for purchase by Private Equity Firms!!!
Walgreens was just purchased by Sycamore. I just read a news article that says Target is also being looked at by private equity firms as well! Are all retail stores pretty much doomed at this point. Wow.
Factors influencing the buyout speculation:
Potential for an attractive acquisition price: Target's stock has been trading near a six-year low, which could make it an attractive and affordable target for a private equity firm.
Change in CEO: The recent announcement that CEO Brian Cornell would be replaced by company insider Michael Fiddelke is thought to have added to the speculation.
Mixed financial results: Despite reporting "better-than-feared" second-quarter earnings, the company's recent results failed to produce a sufficient recovery in its share price.
Previous buyout rumors: News outlets reported on buyout speculation back in late 2024, following disappointing earnings results.
Mini-tender offer: In September 2025, Target received an unsolicited mini-tender offer from TRC Capital Corp., though this offer was for a small portion of the company and not a full buyout.
Suncor buying Imperial?
Lots of rumors about a big Imperial announcement next week on Sep 29, including potential divestment to Suncor, sale of Quarry Park, etc.

Procter & Gamble restructuring plans: Buyouts, brand sales and a CEO shakeup
- The last time P&G did a major restructuring, most of the jobs reductions were buyouts. Likely targets: Generation X, those born between 1965 and 1980.
- So far, P&G has indicated it wants to make trims. Its last round of cuts started small but then got deeper after earlier rounds failed to achieve a turnaround.
- Further change will likely occur at the top with a new incoming CEO and other management shifts.
- The company said some brands might go, but it's not clear how many or which ones.

CWA D9 SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES
Any news for Sept 15th buyout offer for business service representative in d9 Fresno CA?
Imperial Oil to be bought out ?
Rumor has it that IOL LT went to Houston to receive new set of instructions on what to do with their company. Quarry Park HQ is most likely being closed down and staff being moved to downtown (and hundreds of job layoffs in calgary).
Some people saying Exxon will take a full stake in IOL to enable this cut.
So I believe there will be a Eisp for union employees
So the opinion is that with contract coming in next summer the company would never offer a buy out .I believe the whispers I hear of the opposite. What better time scare the guys who been on the fence with the possibility of a strike .Then you lower the already low numbers right before a strike with a package they can’t refuse. The real bargaining issues are already retiree issues !!!So the company knows this retiree issue is now the biggest issue to deal with!!I would be on the look out for a union associate package in oct.Along with tons of management buyouts. The Verizon motto Less headcount is already well on its way
I'm guessing we don't have to worry about layoffs anymore?
I was worried that if not enough people accepted the buyout offer, we'd have an involuntary round after. But if the rumors are true, there are more than enough already, even more than required, which should mean those of us who'd like to stay are safe. Or so I hope.
Big Buyout Coming. No-union.
Comments are welcome folks.
