Ex-Nike here. So happy

Leaving Nike was the best decision I've made in my life. I did not realize I was in depression working in such a company where employees don't do any actual work. I was at Nike for 5 years and left soul s**king Oregon and Nike. Much happier, lost 30 pounds in a year, my health markers are healthier.

My friends who work there have been trying to get a job for 3 years. That's what nike does to you - make you unfit for jobs outside!

Salem oregon

The Salem credit card customer service site was closed today. No fanfare. 10 am scheduled meeting. Handshake from executives walking the floor thanking us for our service. And turn in your computer on the way out. 201 heads with one giant swing of the axe. 2 years of sitting on pins and needles, the relief was palpable in the building.

Any truth to another round of layoffs in Oregon mid November

Has anyone else heard that rumor from Oregon about more layoffs coming in mid-November? I’m trying to figure out if there’s any truth to it. The only thing I’ve actually heard from people I work with is that some teams are merging and a few folks are being moved around. That could easily explain some of the chatter.

So when I saw a Reddit thread claiming that a supervisor told a tech “more layoffs are coming,” I wasn’t sure how much weight to give it. There’s been so much speculation lately that it’s hard to tell what’s legit and what’s just people trying to fill in the blanks. Has anyone heard anything?

Hillsboro Oregon

One benefit to my eventual layoff is I will never come back to this layoff chat again. Most comments are negative. WF and any other company has the right to set expectations. If you don't like them, you can find a better fit for yourself. I loved my job ( 90% of the time). I had some amazing managers and met some great friends over the many years I've worked here. Can I complain about some things? Sure. But for the most part, I have no complaints. There will be many things I'll miss once I no longer work here. Best to you all. Hillsboro OR hang in there. This chapter will soon come to an end.

My Dept got ~60% cut

I am at TETD under ATTD. We have teams in OR and in AZ. Intel is shutting down all developments in TETD, so we are letting go of ~60% employees which would be several hundreds both in AZ and in OR.

This is another typical Intel failing in strategy. After investing billions and hiring lots of really talented engineers for more than 20 years, now we are shutting down because there are no immediate customers as we trust TSMC more than ourselves.

Everyone who sees this, remember you will be the next target. DO NOT TRUST INTEL LEADERSHIP period. Intel is set on the course for bankruptcy like Motorola. I am afraid USA is following the course of Intel these days under the great leadership of our fearless but regarded leader. This so awesome for China.
