Is Intel Right?

Insisting that we need our own fabs? Our competitors dwarf us now and they are fabless. TSMC is closing in on 1 trillion dollars market cap. Why does Intel insist that everyone is wrong expect themselves? The fabless trend has grown exponentially... — read more

Q2 earnings

How bad will it be? How much will stock drop? Will Pastor P be fired? How many ELT will “retire”?

I love you guys

Top voted Q for next week’s DCAI forum is compensation. Let’s ask this question until periodic table is exhausted lol 😂

Man, I feel so disappointed ☹️

I was comparing my salary (Software role) with lower-tier competitors and noticed that I am paid much less. It’s time to look externally. I have no hope that Intel will ever come back and address this issue.

just realized ...

just realized insurance premiums have gone up to 30% in California including everyone's compensation in other companies. Our s-h-i-t compensation is not higher and also lower :(. sick of being at this company and actively interviewing to leave

why some people think like this?

in another platform I saw someone said intel is a dying cow and everyone should milk it till last minute. Why not all of us help to the turn around?

Why people give up on windows platforms

https://x.com/jonathan_blow/status/1807867755070161307 Sorry for the profanity, but every single laptop I have bought since 2020 has been unusable dog sh-t. Newest entry: Framework 16. It automatically switches between integrated and discrete GPU... — read more

Why are so many of you scared for your jobs?

Are you good at what you're doing? If the answer is 'yes,' then you have nothing to worry about. Every layoff I've lived through at Intel resulted in low-performers being shown the door - which is exactly as it should be. I can't believe that my... — read more

TD Process Leadership checkpoint

It was in 2021 bold claims were made. Qualcomm in HVM by 2024, and unquestioned process leadership by 2025. This implies pdk 1.1 issued mid 2023. Qualcomm walked away, and 1.1 on 18A still not happened. The board and the street still imbibing the... — read more

Just to make it clear for some

On Friday, my colleagues and I discussed how Intel underpays in every aspect: base pay, bonuses, and stocks. Consequently, we've decided not to work after 4:30 pm or over weekends in any capacity. If you need assistance with your project, please feel... — read more

Layoffs vs people on Visa

How does the layoffs affect people on visa? Intel has a lot of immigrants. Most of them own houses and rental properties. Does Intel look at your immigration status before involuntary CPM?

CPM package

Has the severance package details changed from last year?

Qualcomm vs Intel

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WOiBD5FJjAo This is not a good matchup for Intel lol.

DCAI CPM

DCAI VP announced two weeks ago the group can’t keep investing in Xeon the way it used to be and is shifting investments into AI/GPU space. Since then voluntary CPM has been opened and closed this past weekend, and a lot of people are leaving. The... — read more

More layoffs coming…

I heard a bigger badder round of layoffs is fast approaching… folks, heads up… plan accordingly because it’s gonna get ugly.

History of CPMs

So if the voluntary packages are being offered now, involuntary comes next? What is the criteria for the involuntary CPM? I mean in an organization where the managers are inefficient who even makes the decision of removing them?

On jerks and the institutional acceptance of them

First, to be absolutely clear, there were lots of great people at Intel and specifically in Intel’s compiler team. There were plenty of good engineers doing good work, perfectly nice people who wanted to do the right thing. By numbers, they were by... — read more
