Your feelings are valid

When I got laid off from my last job, everyone acted like I should just get over it and move on. Like it was no big deal. Sc--w that and sc--w them. Getting laid off hits hard and it's okay to feel gutted. That paycheck wasn't just money, it was... — read more

CPG Layoffs

Have notices started going out for anyone within it? I recall the messaging being that they were on a later timeline but I don’t believe it was ever communicated and I haven’t seen anyone yet

Working under a low-swinging guillotine

Having survived this time, ducking every time the low-swinging guillotine comes by. But having to work in this type of environment is crazy. I can't properly focus on my deliverables and have little or no motivation to only do the minimum. People... — read more

Intel's weakening grip on PC manufacturers

Intel is no longer able to wield the cudgel like years ago. Just ask any AI: Intel's weakening grip on PC manufacturers is a result of several factors, including fierce competition from AMD, the rise of ARM-based processors, and a shift towards... — read more

What Is LBT Supposed To Do?

Is he supposed to keep everyone that Pat kept on the payroll and try to find a way to actually turn the company around when there is absolutely no chance of it? Should he just give VSP (CPM) again like Pat did when VSP (CPM) devastated many... — read more

How was anybody surprised by this?

I swear, some people are their own worst enemies. A guy on my team was shocked to be cut. Like, genuinely “what the he-l just happened” shocked. He knew all about the layoffs, but somehow convinced himself he was safe. And now he’s completely... — read more

I thought I was ready

But I wasn’t. I’d been bracing for this for months, telling myself I’d be fine. That I could handle it. But now that it’s real, it hits differently. Logically, I know it’s not a reflection of my worth. I know it happens. But emotionally? It still... — read more

Exhausting wait

I don't want to be let go right now, thanks to the amazing economic conditions our fierce and stupid leader has ignited since January. It is awful out there, no jobs and many people available to compete for the handful available. I'm just tired... — read more

Culture Eats Strategy For Breakfast

Indulge me for a post. Assume our leaders have a sound strategy for Intel to turn around intact. Indulge me. Three cultural problems could derail that. defeatism. slacking. quiet quitting desperation. burn out. overwork. If work is cutting... — read more

Wow, was I wrong about Intel

I tried for so long to tell myself it was the company, not the employees. I kept thinking/hoping the people were basically nice, and it was the evil company making everyone so miserable. Boy was I wrong. Since getting notified I've seen the dark side... — read more

Don't blame the man, he took very tough decisions for intel and him

RIP 18A??

I don't get it, if rumors are true and 18A gets written off for foundry customers, why would they line up for 14A ?

Second round of layoffs starting Thursday.

Layoff starting Thursday for the back half of compressed shift. My stomach feels weird going to work tomorrow. What is a good excuse I can use to PA? All this stress is giving me the IBS squirts?

Warning to those who are ISP.

Posted by @cy+1jzp3pe5c, and this is true info. Anyone who has been ISP may not need to worry about idling in the cafe surfing the internet, but IT and HR will go after you if you mess with your emails or files. Delete nothing and don't use a flash... — read more

This true?

This year only 3k headcount reduction planned. Next year 5k. LBT is slow in cutting heads. Is this correct?

At least the stock is soaring

Investors always seem to love watching people lose their livelihoods if it means a better return. It’s disgusting. Fu-k it all to he-l.

Almost two decades here

That's how long it's been since I last interviewed. Starting over at 48 is terrifying. I'm okay financially for now, but sooner or later I'll need a new job. I really thought I'd retire here. Anyway, good luck to the rest of you.

Grade 55 56 57 module equipment tech

We have lost our grade 56 and 57 techs. due to being higher earners probably, one of the guys asked to stay if he dropped from 56 to 55 but was denied, these techs have a great deal of module knowledge and will be sorely missed. We are now expected... — read more

They did it once again

Once again they managed to skip every single slacker I work with. Who the he-l do these people know to survive something like this?

Looks like the fires are going to burn forever

I was working here for 6 years putting out fires in the background. Then this last year I was working remote from 8 to 7 almost everyday covering for folks I care about and getting the work done that was needed. For me to come back and get laid off... — read more

Time to start quiet quitting

If you take on the work of the people who were laid off, you're going to make your own life much harder and validate the leadership in their attempt to cut folks but keep the workload the same. Don't do it.
