We're cold chieftain Steve
I only experienced Steve's leadership briefly but feel like this wouldn't have happened if chieftain Steve stayed on. He wouldn't have let those EVPs and SVPs and dinosaur board members bundle their failed projects with projects that were actually... — read more
Don't fall to office politics and toxicity if you are laid off.
Don't mind those that talks about you or being happy you got laid off in the process. Keep your heads up, march on. Some may even have party with champagne to celebrate they survived, but don't let it get tk your head is most important.
Take FTO now
List is done and nothing will change it. Great time to take on that home improvement project or trip to Greek islands.
List
I know of 2 people who know they are going out this layoff, one of them selling his home because of it. How can they know they are out if the list is not "fully finalized"? And if it is finalized maybe they want to compare it to the 3rd party... — read more
I have survived six layoffs in three companies in the last eleven years
Something tells me my luck is about to run out...

QCOM manager su-ks. Always make themselves look good but didn't even do a single thing to protrct employee.
Managers just show off their team achievement but when it's time to take a bullet, they bail!!
Qualcomm hold on to too many toxic employees. Every complain is of no use.
Toxic employees make life hard at work. They just blame others for everything and not willing to help.
QCOM stock
I'll buy some shares when they hit $50.
Underperforming BU will be axed
There are tons of business units that are not making any money. AFAIK, most customer facing service units with cloud or SaaS components will be eliminated as a part of portfolio reset. This will include the VP and everybody under them. If you are in... — read more
No grievance report against management team in QCOM?
There should be a grievance option for employees to file against management just like management sayi g employee insubordination. This will give employees a platform to feedback any misuse of power.
The end is near it is crystal clear
Next week folks! Thanos-like execution. CA to personally press the send button in Outlook that will reach 50% of our SD workforce. Godspeed. Reliable sources as always.
Got a message from a recruiter about an opening in Qualcomm
Is Qualcomm still hiring? Is this a good time to join Qualcomm? Thanks for your insights!
Cutting onle engineer level employees? How do you save money? Was expecting staff and above.
Heard qcom only cutting engineers in this lay off. Will this really save money with so many status collectors whom has much higher salary still around?
Thinking about cuts 24/7
This can't be healthy.
I received a rejection email after I finished the third round of interviews
And I thought it went well. I hate this. It's been so long since I've last had to search for a new job and things are not the same as they were. Not to mention, every rejection hurts. I'm more scared of being laid off now than I ever was, knowing how... — read more

Laid off with RSUs
Here is a good website to read about getting laid off with RSUs in your severance package or if you already have RSUs given by the company. https://www.equityftw.com/articles/what-happens-to-rsus-if-youre-laid-off
List was already finalized
The list was already finalized 2 Fridays ago. Its in HR now, doing? I dont know but it was finalized. The question is when will they notify? And why are we doing workday before and not after notifications. Also, is it the 1st week or 2nd week of... — read more
OneIT already so lean. Who will they decide to go
what type of roles are at risk? It’s not like engineering where u have to go to a lab and work.
Prep Work
Lifted this off my linkedin feed, 33 things to do to prep for layoffs, most are applicable to us as well: 1 - Emergency Fund: Save 3-6 months' worth of living expenses. 2 - Debt Reduction: Pay down high-interest debts to reduce financial... — read more
China
This time around China will get decimated. There is a strategic shift towards moving things out of China and we'll be no different. Everyone is doing it, we are just (as always) late.
What's the reason for layoffs this time?
We are minting money, we invest left and right, flush in cash - so, what's the problem?
Apec severance
The severance is confirmed to be N+3 in months. N is the number of services years. Just because the last layoff people got N*2 weeks doesnt mean its the same this time, a colleague who got the notice notify me and every else mentioned it. They also... — read more

Directors and above
The speculation is most director and above roles are going to be safe. How does this make sense if Qualcomm is trying to cut down in expenses ?
when will lists be finalized?
when’s the right time to ask manager about how reduction will or will not affect team
Dividend
Apart from the genius CFO who approved raising the dividend two quarters ago, which costs the company about $800M per quarter, and yet the stock keeps falling; I have a question: Did anyone get the dividend yesterday/today ? It was due yesterday but... — read more
