Knowing what's coming, knowing they'd most likely be able to leave with a package, why are they so quick to leave? I'm genuinely curious.

@1ew was on track to get my 2nd promotion in 2 years before i left.
i was full remote and not living around an office though
@1e9 We’re you a Caribbean remote worker? No…than shut up.
@1e9 Prove it!
@1b6 i was full remote before i quit and doing probably 2x the expectations for my role.
@19z Look at Corporate. That is where the problem is.
@19z they aren’t doing their job tool. That is the issue! They are taking advantage of s broken system.
@1a9 can confirm, they threatened RTO and wouldn't increase comp so i jumped to a hybrid 3 days in office role for double the pay
Everyone I know is leaving for more money. My guess is that the looming threat of layoffs lead them to be proactive in their search.
@16g why do you care if they're remote if they're doing their job? streaming was given the exemption from RTO because the company knew that half of their employees would have left, and were already seeing many key people in streaming leave the company.
People are fed up with the Caribbean remote workers and their supporters.
@bt Glad you found a place that makes you happy! Curious, what makes your new job layoff resistant? Does the company just have generally low churn in employees? Or is it in a sector that is more stable than media?
@nb this!!
@bt curious, where did you land that you are not constantly worried about layoffs?
Why quit? Better question is why should someone do the jobs of 3 people while your new boss is either a Skydance person out of their league, who thinks you make too much money or a new hire from Uni/Disney who is upset that they took more money to come to a place with not enough resources to succeed. In either case they will decide you, the hard worker, are the problem because they have no one else to blame.
I know of a few people recently who took the package for this round two of RTO. Their last day is the end of the this month. Not sure if that's standard with this round. I've also noticed a number of paramount job postings that are remote eligible. Its funny how that in office requirement suddenly disappeared.
Not all departments are run the same at Paramount. The hard part is finding a group leader you want to work with. This is true anywhere. I like my boss. I like my work. I realize I could be fired at any time. How is that different any where else? I just choose not to worry about things out of my control. Sure there are companies with better stability records, but there's no guarantee that every department is stable.
Me! I’m someone who quit. Why wouldn’t I? My new job pays double, I negotiated a nice sign-on bonus, and I’m not constantly worried about layoffs.
3 people from my old team have left since I have, and I know others are looking for their exit too.
The leave for peace of mind. My evp was expert at subjecting one to changing expectations, having information consistently withheld so you can’t do your job and intentional exclusion from interactions with colleagues. It takes its toll.
To echo a previous comment… who’s quitting? I haven’t seen any recently.
How generous do you think these hypothetical packages are? It’s usually 1-2 weeks per year of service. In California, unemployment caps out at $450/week and only goes for 6 months. The job market is awful. If you get a chance for something better and don’t jump, you’re an id--t.
there is no legal requirement to provide any monetary exit "package" to anyone unless it is written in a union contract for those under a union agreeement.
is this a serious question ? You know what's happening if your not looking now your a fool and if you wait for a package, exhaust that package there ns no guarantee there is a job at the end of your severance.
if you find solid employment jump that ship.
Who’s quitting? Haven’t seen any.
