@aw That was my question. In Louisiana, united exited the market in March 2026; now elevance is exiting at the end of the year. What kind of gaps is this going to create for members on medicaid?

@bz well they care about the members if by that you mean the executives of the accounts - they sure care about making them happy - but not members below that group. Never have. Pretty much like how EH rolls as well

@g4 Elevance held its Q2 earnings call on Wednesday morning, where CEO Gail Boudreaux said that the insurer views 2026 as a "trough year" for its Medicaid business, "with improvement over time supported by better rate alignment and the maturation of our care management actions (excerpt from the article)

Do you see the words Care Management here - you realize the sweat shop mentality is coming for care management in all lines of business, not just Medicaid

I'm curious how the federal programs keep going like the castle isn't falling down around everyone.

@e8 Yeah, corrupt executive leaders conveniently would obviously prefer to “spend more time with family” as opposed to spending time in prison.

So Elevance pays $342 million to CMS for Medicare overcharges and now is deciding to exit Medicaid markets. One might speculate that Medicaid is facing increasing fraud investigation and audits and perhaps they are exiting markets before things get uncovered? Two watches left Elevance 2 days before the DOJ called him to testify on upcoding; he suddenly had to spend more time with family. Will there be sudden Medicaid executive departures?? Maybe that could be a topic for the next Elevance is a dumpster fire-side chat!!😬😂

@aw Glad you have your priorities straight; the important thing is executives can continue to daily afford to feed their attack dogs raw Wagyu hot dogs! /sarcasm off

Setting aside the impact of these "exits" on our teams, won't this leave a gaping hole for members in affected markets?

As long as the shareholders can afford their boats and summer homes, though.
