Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Every Company Has Its Reckoning

There’s a journalist quietly speaking with former Nike employees about their experiences during the John Donahoe era.

If the reporting is thorough, the sources are credible, and the facts can be independently corroborated, it could become a very significant account of that period in the company’s history.

If you spent years feeling ignored, marginalized, or mistreated, consider sharing your experience. Organizational cultures are ultimately defined not by the messaging they produce, but by the experiences of the people who lived them.

@aa clearly it wasn’t cheap or fake as they are being held accountable to pay millions to that lady engineer that sue them for never getting promoted so shut the fu-k up.

@a6 that’s what Nike does - cover it all up. Until you can’t anymore. People are starting to talk and I think it’s just a matter of time.

@aa Nothing builds confidence like having other people do the heavy lifting while you collect the recognition. A truly inspiring leadership model.

Morality and politics aside, MeToo and George Floyd are what broke Nike. The response with policy and structural changes went too far driven by fear. DEI replaced the winning culture and strong leadership that made Nike successful, and woke strategies put time and resources into the wrong priorities instead of what Nike consumers cared for.

Go ahead and downvote me.

@a6+1kxypggc9 no wonder they laid y'all off en masse. Employees looking for a cheap #MeToo moment are worse than having no employee at all, which is why all y'all opportunistic litigation scavengers are being replaced by click farms in Asia.
