The Center

Designed to support the assets and be a hub for SME’s, it has been a great success for Chevron over the years. But facing an existential threat, after years of investing in research and technologies which make zero impact on the day to day happenings... — read more

Left standing

I imagine there are many of us (mid career 10+ years) that assumed we would retire from this company. However this was the year that got some of us, and now we are left standing. However are you holding up? What are you doing now/plan to do next?... — read more

Name the album

Name the album that best sums up this cluster f*ck of a reorg. I'll start with Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. One rumour I've heard is that maint contractors are busy looking elsewhere and doing a lot less work as they know they'll be gone soon to Engine. — read more

Lost

Feel lost and deflated. The office hours are not good. Listening to talking points from the leaders makes me want to hurt myself. Delusional.

SH&T show

S&T reorg has been an absolute debacle. Implementation team clearly didn't involve enough people actually executing the work for these workflows to make any sense and then point their fingers at other orgs when there is a question of who does what... — read more

Extra PTO

After all the soul crushing changes and stuff the company has been put through the past few years, for those left maybe management should give a day or so of extra PTO as an act of good will! If they remotely care about productivity people need a... — read more

Boeing 2.0?

With the massive cuts and loss of so much talent and are we setting ourselves up for complete failure in the not so distant future? Accidents are already sky high and we haven't completed the understaffing measures completely. Guess Mike doesn't care... — read more

Affable young women leaders

How many of these affable, not business savvy PSG 26-29 leaders do we have? Annoyingly, many routinely block their Mondays for extended vacations. They make every school and coaching event. Rarely in the office more than 2 days a week. I swear, it’s... — read more

Les

When will LC be fired? He's non existent and IT is a complete disaster after the re-org. Morale in the toilet and there was no plan at all for what happened after the cut 50% or more of US staff. I've heard Engine is a disaster as well. Also wonder... — read more

Future of CNE

Wondering how many CNE folk are trying to jump ship this round. Should be a good indicator of how close we are to sinking that boat. We were slow to jump in after BP and Shell had first tried to float their low carbon, low IQ portfolio’s. BP threw... — read more

Conflict of interest?

Serious question — what’s the point of keeping husband-and-wife combos in the same department or even the same company? It always turns messy. Conflicts of interest, favouritism, gossip, and when it goes sour (and it usually does), everyone else has... — read more

Anyone planning on leaving the industry want to file a title VIi case for racist & s-xist hiring and promotion policies?

A statistical overrepresentation of one hired or promoted group IS enough grounds to file a title VII case for discrimination and force HR groups into revealing internal communications and policies regarding hiring and promoting practices. We all... — read more

Why?

Why is MW and MN such Bell Ends?

HR jobs

I just heard that 90% of HR jobs are already selected. Pick 3 jobs is just a dog and pony show. This whole process has been awful.

Staying put but not optimistic

At this point in my career it feels too late to start over, which is why I have not left. If I were younger I would be gone already. There are so many issues here and no real sign that leadership plans to fix any of them.

New Employee Network

We already have BEN, Somos and PRIDE, but I think we need a new one called CEAMW. It's a group that can unite us all, and have more diversity than all the rest! The Chevron Employees Against Mike Wirth Network! Let's make it happen!

Unforseen effects

What has occurred from the reorg that might be of surprise? In the ABU a manager has been shunted into a worthless global role and they are wasting no time burning bridges clashing with long time allies. This has surpised the allies not the rest of... — read more

MW - we hope HESS can teach us to explore

Chevron (NYSE:CVX) plans to merge the Hess exploration team with its own to "challenge some of our conventional thinking" and make new discoveries, CEO Mike Wirth said Tuesday in an interview with Bloomberg. Chevron (NYSE:CVX) is cutting ~650 Hess... — read more

Upward Feedback to MW

This brilliant feedback was copied from another post and must be elevated here: In alignment with MW’s directive to “stop being nice to each other,” I think we can all agree on this upward feedback: you are running this company into the ground with... — read more

Completely over it

I stopped stressing about this job months ago. Losing it wouldn’t break me because I know my skills are in demand even in this job market. Honestly, if they want to let me go, that could end up being the best thing for me. I am already thinking about... — read more
