NYC Band 8 technology and planning
AD and SD called, 6 years with VZ. Was recently moved to a new group and was working with senior engineers. Promoted very early on in my tenure, great performance reviews. Didn’t matter they basically said my functions can be done by people in India. Kind of liberating but disappointing at the same time. I just had my first child 6 months ago. I don’t blame current leadership although he was on the board. The stock price su-ked for a decade under Hans, but all we heard was glowing results.
Stability
Is anyone in the company in an area where there isn't chaos and lack of planning? This re-org has been terrible. There is no way MW should still be CEO
Updates on Channel

Next Quarter
So, there's a lot going on here… Q3 and we're revving up for Q4… and we're preparing preparing for Q1. you know we have our eyes on the following Q2 and Q3 that comes after that and then that pivotal Q4 kind of ramping out to 2027… pivotal Q1, until 2027 Q2, followed by that Q3 and the Q4, kind of going into 2028 Q1. so there's a lot that we are kind of like laddering up there's a lot, kind of going over and we're gonna make sure that we kind of like we are not boiling the ocean or jumping shark next quarter. And talent retention.

Merchandise Planners leaving by the day
Every single day I hear of more people from corporate that are leaving the company. Primarily Planning positions. I am certainly not overlooking this. Think there will be a ton within the next 2 months. All the commuters will be done the first of the year too. Good luck to everyone
The high road
If you make 2 or 3x the average household income in the USA, then you should be saving and index investing that extra 50 or 66 percent. If you don't, you are living a risky existence for stupid material things that mean nothing in the long run. Look at all of these posts here on the layoff forum. Realize that you are only 1 bad management decision away from earning a goose egg for a living. I retired at age 52. Because I earned several millions in about 20 years of working as a software developer at Fidelity Investments, by investing in index funds. I didn't want to retire but my stupid boss wanted to PIP me. And I had enough money. And I had enough of his BS. And I had an option to get out of the working world entirely. Because of simple decisions like driving a 20 year old car. And working on it myself. And investing in index funds. So simple. The future is never guaranteed. The present is your zone to make the most of, in the best interest of your future self. Layoff forum is just a wake up call to make your future financially secure.
Plan ahead
This company is out to reduce head count by hook or crook.
Plan your next financial and career plan ahead.
Don’t assume you can stay here till you are 60 or 65.
Layoffs are not temporary
I can’t imagine anyone genuinely thinking layoffs at EJ are temporary. The patterns are clear, and it’s only going to get worse unless leadership takes a serious look at long-term planning. Face it folks. Layoffs are here to stay.
The next culling
Just letting everyone know, the planning is underway. I've seen multiple things come through my email. Oct is going to su-k. I can't say more because I like my pay check and I'm sure it will be gone soon enough.
Layoff PI Planning
The consulting firm that came up with planning the layoffs really robbed Edward Jones. I'm in the wrong line of business if you can get paid for this outcome. This felt like Layoff PI Planning. We're all waiting for the final read out.
Worst part of the weekend....
Dreading the upcoming nonsense of the week ahead. More rush, rush, rush....more being overworked due to the slacking of others....more nannying and nagging by PMs who are more important in their own heads than they really are....more last minute bs that becomes an emergency due to poor planning of other teams.....i could go on for hours
Acquisition
I am really worried about what joining Cenovus means for our jobs. Will there be layoffs or restructuring? The uncertainty is stressful.
Future layoffs
Hi everyone, has anyone heard any credible updates or timelines regarding potential future layoffs? Just trying to stay informed and plan accordingly. Thanks in advance.
