Offshoring and Visa Fraud

A lot of interest in offshoring and visa fraud. Would be great to get a YouTuber to do an expose on what Exxon is doing. They could visit some hotels near to campus in the morning and see the huge number of Indians in business trips to Houston and then also all the ones driving into campus who are expats to the US.

Every Expat job at Aramco comes with an expiration date

The fact that HR doesn't tell you that before you come doesn't make it less true. If you took the job expecting to make it to retirement, I'm sorry, but you are a fool. If you think the quantity/quality of the work you do will save you, then you are a double fool. The last big round that management did back in 2020 doomed entire areas of the company, and I'm sure the next one will be just the same if not worse. Sadly, management is clueless when it comes to knowing who does what, and good people get the boot right along with the bad. Some companies learn the easy way. Some companies learn the hard way. On the other hand, Aramco never, ever learns.

@bn+1kqpw2thz hits the nail on the head.

Exodus of Expats

There have been several emails over the past few weeks about expats ending their “assignment” and going back overseas.

Most people don’t know who these guys are, is it really appropriate to blow up our email box with these announcements?

Is this a good sign of change or just a revolving door, merry-go-round of Sammy’s friends coming and going?

Out of scope expat

We have an expat who works as a team leader/supervisor and was identified as an out of scope employee during this second half selection. This individual is a great performer (and so does everybody else who is left behind since 6 re-orgs ago). Why would they select and retain a more expensive expat when the position can be performed by someone locally? I understand if it is like a CTC specialist role but this is a typical supervisory role. Talk about selective cost cutting. Oh well, politics is always present everywhere you go. Sigh.

Aramco recruiters at it again

Beware of the false promises made by these unethical bunch. They continue to employ bait and switch tactics, the promises made do not align with the actual contract that gets offered…

  • never accept anything verbally, always seek in writing the actual deal.
  • do not accept vague or general language to mask the fact that you’ll end up with nothing.
  • one expat was told their benefits supplement would be 80% of their base salary(!), when the paperwork arrived it was 15%. Everyone know that, recruitment thought it ok to lie to the candidate/
  • another was told their kids (special ) education would be paid by Aramco, on receiving the contract Aramco pay les than a third.
  • another was told they would receive an annual increment of 5% for satisfactory performance, yet in reaiity if that’s 2% if at alll.

Juts remember with theee guys it’s BUYER BEWARE.
