Disneyland to lose 100 employees in round of layoffs

Several departments are expected to experience layoffs; however, Disneyland Resort declined to confirm which specific departments will be affected. At the time of writing, the California theme park has not filed a WARN notice.

To merge or not to merge?

Is the merge happening? Media has been pretty quiet about it. the most recent report was a clean team meeting was scheduled and it went well. Hope all goes well if the merge does happen but what's going to happen in certain markets. If pfg and usfood both delivering in the same area.who's going to take over those markets when you have delivery drivers and sales reps for both sides. I guess only time will tell if it's even going to happen or not happen.this is slow seasons but usfoods jist hired 10 drivers in my area.while we still have stand days going on. Doesn't make sense

Reuters Exclusive

Anyone else notice the trend?

CEP internal emails keep getting picked up by Reuters as their exclusive story. Latest was Canada. Surprised US hasn’t hit the news yet and just waiting for the Reuters Exclusive on that one…

Thoughts?

why do they always wait so long to do it?

My question is with all these layoffs - they always know it’s going to happen and have the lists so early. Why does management and execs always wait till a certain day to make the cuts? Why not just do it as soon as possible to avoid all this stress and anxiety for everyone with a date looming over? It really pi---s me off I’ve been through this so many times and it’s really like we’re all numbers on a sheet or a dollar amount not people with lives and families to take care of

Next Week (Oct 29, 2025)

I work in HR, and I can say with 99.9% confidence that the New York and Los Angeles layoffs are scheduled for Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

Before you read the following, know that yes, it's that bad! - Most line managers still have no idea what’s coming. Only a few will find out what’s happening on Friday afternoon or early next week. Yes, even some SVPs and EVPs have been kept completely in the dark about what’s happening to their own teams. This might be because they are also being laid off and haven’t been told yet, or due to concerns about leaks. It also shows that they hasn’t had much control over the process this time. The new Skydance leadership seems to dislike how, in previous rounds at paramount, some staff had early knowledge of what was coming, so this time they’re keeping everything very close to their chests. - Yes, there is still very much a use and them.

I know for certain that I’m being laid off. I found out by accident when I was mistakenly sent a spreadsheet listing my name. (I felt humiliated) Later, my manager confirmed it was accurate and told me I wasn’t supposed to have seen it. I was officially meant to be notified next Wednesday.

However, I’m not surprised to be included since most of the teams I support are also being cut.

Important: From what I know based on previous layoffs, there’s no real negotiation. Yes, you can try to push back or ask for more, but you probably won’t get anything extra, which honestly su-ks. All communication will eventually funnel through a general HR mailbox, and the replies will be completely generic.

If you think about holding out or trying to push for a better deal, don't bother. They won’t bend, and if you try, they simply won’t pay you. The company plans to go in hard on HR compliance and will not move on severance, timing, or terms. Why drag it out when the result is already decided?

This round of layoffs combines the old Paramount process with the new Paramount Skydance approach. The compensation structure hasn’t changed, but leadership is working extremely hard to keep everything under wraps until the official announcement. They want to show in the next earnings report that they saved far more money than expected.

I love this company, but I’m starting to lose faith in the new management. Don’t blame your team or department lead for what’s happening. Seriously! They’ve been kept in the dark just like everyone else.

NBC News layoffs

Layoffs hit NBC News Wednesday, with the network news division facing cuts ahead of Comcast’s spinoff of Versant. About 150 jobs were eliminated, representing about 2 percent of the workforce of the NBC News Group.

Journalists need to do better

"Amazon plans to cut 15% of workforce" - really? That's their title? Do they have any idea how many people that would be? They'd do anything just to get clicks these days. If somebody didn't know this was referring to the human resources department, it would have given them a mini heart attack.

Annual Fall Layoffs

iHeart has begun its annual fall layoffs amid a broader push for profitability, with speculation of hundreds of cuts nationwide. In Los Angeles, KFI 640 AM let go evening host Morris W. O’Kelly minus Mo’Kelly minus his producer Tawala Sharp, imaging director Clay Roe, and Real 92.3’s overnight host Chuck Dizzle. The moves come as KFI’s ratings have softened and the station adapts after leadership changes and newsroom cuts, though KFI still tied for 14th in the market in September.

CEO Bob Pittman’s 2024 compensation drew criticism in the piece, alongside a noted 46 percent staff reduction over 10 years across the company. Separate from the layoffs, a lawsuit filed by former Alt 98.7 morning co host Renae Ravey alleges age discrimination against show host Jeff Fife minus Woody minus which iHeart and Fife have not commented on.

%6 gone (People Inc)

People Inc, formerly Dotdash Meredith, will cut 226 jobs, about 6 percent of staff, announced Thursday, Oct. 9. The cuts span all parts of the business and are framed as a strategic move to free money for growth, including the recent Feedfeed acquisition and investments in creator partnerships.

The company will continue to invest in its contextual ad targeting tech D/Cipher plus. People says search referrals are down due to zero click AI products, but off platform views are up, and an OpenAI licensing deal lifted Q2 licensing revenue by 23 percent year over year. Leadership says they embrace AI for optimization but AI will not create their content.

"MTV to axe its music TV channels in the UK" BBC

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cdr612yz8p0o

"MTV, the world's first 24-hour music broadcaster, is to stop showing rolling pop videos in the UK after almost 40 years when it closes five channels at the end of the year.

MTV Music, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, Club MTV and MTV Live will all stop broadcasting after 31 December, the BBC understands.

However, the flagship channel, MTV HD, will remain on air, showing reality series including Na--d Dating UK and Geordie Shore.

The move reflects a shift in viewing habits, with music videos largely consumed on YouTube and social media rather than television. A spokesman for MTV's parent company, Paramount, declined to comment."

"Wider layoffs
Paramount is also expected to close MTV music channels in countries including Australia, Poland, France and Brazil, according to media reports in those countries."

Paid Marketing

Who is paying to have these fluff pieces written about our chief mo--n? This is utter rubbish and there have been no smart decisions by the C-suite during his reign.

I ask anyone to name 1 decision that has a positive outcome.

My Two Cents on Citi Layoffs

The way Citi is handling layoffs is beyond disrespectful. Getting a random unexpected call saying your position is eliminated, with no clarity on severance, is barbaric. The uncertainty is hanging over those still working, waiting for their turn. It's clear to everyone, yet management acts oblivious.
I've been through layoffs before, and there's a right way to do it—team meetings, advance notice, incentives to stay and help with the transition. Citi has the resources but chooses greed instead.
They don't seem to realize this will backfire.
If they don't start treating people like human beings, they'll regret it. I'm ready to speak up and go to the media if needed. I've got nothing to lose by standing up for what's right.

Lionsgate Layoffs Will Trim Overall Staff By 50

Lionsgate will be reducing 5% of its companywide staff, Deadline has learned.

Approximately 50 staff overall will exit in a move that adds to a previous trim. The earlier layoff constituted 8% of staff, which will mean Lionsgate will have lightened its head count by 13% when this round of downsizing is done.

Paramount Bros Skydance - Physical Assets

Alright ladies and gentlemen. Let's talk about assets of the combined companies of Paramount, WBD, and Skydance. I am interested in physical assets and not everyone talking about how we would have everything but James Bond.

For example;

NY - CBS Broadcast Center - Paramount
NY - CBS Ed Sullivan Theater - Paramount
