Bonus, Bonus, what will it be??....
Wow! Some concerned about bonus! Let me tell you, I was displaced on 9/30/25. I don't get a bonus. I don't get anything really. And to be clear, I thought like you OP! Yep, so some got laid off, but we are here doing all the work now. I guess that might have some basis, but I have to say, I've got NOTHING. And the job market SU-KS. Yes, those of us who've been cast off, we are not thinking bonus. We are thinking, how to provide for the family, how to put food on the table, how to pay the bills. I get your bonus concern. Can you get my survival concern?
AI - Winter is coming!
Artificial Intelligence is being promoted as the next great engine of prosperity. AT&T, like many others, insists that AI will be a job creator, a force that opens new opportunities and drives innovation. But let’s be honest. If AI is as successful as its architects hope, it will never generate more jobs than it destroys.
The entire purpose of AI investment is efficiency. It is designed to automate, to optimize, to eliminate human error, and ultimately to eliminate human labor. If after billions in research and infrastructure AI does not eliminate millions of jobs, it will be judged a failure. That is the paradox. Success for AI means displacement on a scale society has never seen.
This is not alarmism. It is simple math. Every breakthrough in automation has reduced the need for human workers. AI is not just another tool. It is a general-purpose technology capable of replacing cognitive, creative, and managerial tasks once thought untouchable. When machines can write, analyze, negotiate, and even empathize, what remains for us?
The consequences go far beyond unemployment statistics. Work is not just a paycheck. It is the backbone of civil society. It structures our days, gives us purpose, and ties us to communities. Strip away meaningful employment for millions, and you do not just create economic instability. You unravel the social fabric itself.
If AI succeeds, we face a collapse of civil society:
- Mass displacement of workers across industries, not only manufacturing but also white-collar and professional roles
- Erosion of identity and purpose as people lose the roles that anchor them in society
- Concentration of wealth and power as the benefits of AI accrue to a handful of corporations and investors
- Political instability as inequality deepens and trust in institutions evaporates
We cannot afford to be lulled by glossy promises of “new jobs” or “reskilling.” History shows that the jobs created by automation are fewer, more specialized, and often inaccessible to those displaced. The scale of AI disruption will dwarf past industrial revolutions.
This is not a distant future. It is unfolding now. The urgency is real. If we do not confront the societal consequences head-on, we risk trading human dignity for technological progress. And that is not progress at all. It is collapse.
Move 401k to IRA
So yesterday was my day. When can I move my 401k to an IRA? Do I have to wait the 60 days non working time, or can I do it whenever? I already signed the displacement documents.
What will my legacy be after displacement?
Will anybody remember me?
Incentive and displacement
How will those of us that have been displaced (October) be remembered for incentive allocations that are happening now (finalized in January)? Will leaders just need to remember us that have been displaced or is there an organized process perhaps led by HR to advise managers so they don't forget us?? I was a top performer.
Did anyone buy or lease the Orin?
Rumors from earlier this year… Is bnsf doing directional traffic on the coal loop? Did they run through Edgemont yet? Did they do anything with the Orin???
Every bit of industry has been changing this year. People are getting laid off or displaced to other locations. (Example… Union Pacific is wanting to make North Platte an away terminal).
ER/CM mass layoffs
Employee Relations and Conduct Management are getting laid off, not a Tuesday and just before the holidays. Multiple on each team are being pre selected for displacement in December. Thanks HellsFargo
IBM Tried To Replace Its Workforce With AI But Hired More People Instead
With companies like IBM laying off thousands —
Microsoft laid off 9,000, Amazon ousted 14,000,
Accenture about 11,000 — it might be time to
seriously consider the future of this
displacement.
We won't be holding our breath.

vSphere is under fire with new rising displacement software
I spent over 10 years in vSphere. Now that Broadcom bundled vSphere 9.0 and you can never buy alone, many alternatives are coming up. Proxmox is outdated. These guys are out of their mind.
But I am seeing a few players. Some are ex-vmware employees. It is very very very interesting to see one of them takeover vSphere in a few years.
Of course, the top enterprise customers are stuck but anyone less than 1000 servers should be an immediate target.
I am very looking forward to see vSphere displacement in action.
19,000 employees were kicked out due to greed and destruction.
Money not worth the stress and disruption
For those of you that are holding out to be displaced. You got to look at what the cost to yourself and your family is of staying there. The money even at the end of your long career is not going to be worth the time that you lose away from your loved ones. The leadership doesn't care if you were single parents they don't care if you have children they don't care if you have a loved one you're caring for they don't care if you have parents that you are monitoring. This is all stuff that can be done with you working at home and every now and then just checking on your kids your spouse your parents. But management has decided that is not important prioritize your life based on the most important things which is not your career.
Pssst. In case you didn’t know about the 100 Million
Reading posts for far too long without contributing aside from a thumbs up or down.
All the bit$hing about layoffs and RTO can be summarized and understood by understanding the un mutable living fact. Which is, 100 MILLION of us will be displaced by AI by 2030.
Fact, not fiction. There will be civil unrest. There will be difficult times. This vast wasteland called T is the least of our worries, Look to your right and to your left. I promise you those employees will be unemployed.
Attention displaced associates that are still here
If you apply for anything, you are not given any priority whatsoever. This is just another lie that was peddled by our dear ELT.
Divisions Layoffs Have Started
Emails about divisions layoffs started going out today. Unsure how many are affected.
Just got the boot!
Good luck to all, just got the boot on my end, strategic rep here
Dozens of Wisconsin workers losing jobs as Xylem announces layoffs
Xylem, Inc., a major American water technology provider with operations in Wisconsin, has announced it will be laying off dozens of employees at its Waukesha facility.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Xylem will permanently reduce its workforce at the facility located at N19W23993 Ridgeview Parkway, Suite 200.

Was 10/15 that bad??
Was today October 15th really that bad? Yes, it is sad people have lost their roles (unless they wanted to of course) but I have only heard of a handful of names. From previous posts you thought there would be 1000+ Anyone know total number of colleagues who left us today?
10/14 cuts
So, how many ppl got displaced yesterday? Am I missing where it’s been mentioned in here already?
How many got LRed and existed out on Oct 13 after 60 days, are non-USA different dates?
Acknowledge if impacted this cycle. There are numbers out as large as 7000 LRed this cycle as notified on Aug 13, 2025 but there is no formal place to sum it up. Are WARN notices available and what age group employees with locations impacted…. This is a whole mix soup, everyone served different.
How is the job market outside… hearing pathetic stories…
Chicos 2025 Layoffs
The call center has laid off a significant portion of its American call center representatives and plans to retain its foreign representatives. This is devastating, and I didn't see it coming at all.
Excellent Plan
- Lay off the people who do a task.
- Don’t assign anyone else to the task.
- Be surprised when the task doesn’t get done.
- Profit?
Almost a year
Its been almost a year since Cargill displaced so many colleagues. I see all the linkedin posts of the highly political leaders taking credit for foundational efforts of others they dismissed without even a second thought. It is still sad and heartbreaking reminder of how cruel the culture was. Wonder if current employees even bother to check in on those that still do not have jobs or that left without any acknowledgment of their years of service to this cold company.
Any thoughts on what happens to our HCL teams?
Like it or not, a lot of work is done by HCL or TCS (maybe others]? What is the view as to if these will stay. because LEX has lots of employees in low-cost countries will work done by third party now just move to them?
Displacement Paperwork
Has anyone consulted with a lawyer on the displacement paperwork agreement with WF?
I have zero intentions of not signing but just want to make sure there is no reason to get a lawyer to review.
Is Pre-notice Common?
A colleague told me they got some sort of pre-notice (working) of ~30 days before they were going to get an official notice of 60 days (non-working) in the near future. I've only heard of something like this in broad locations getting displaced and NOT individuals. Is this new or just very unique situation? EVERY individual I've known displaced prior was immediately non-working.
After displacement in Oct., can I still enroll in FSA for 2026?
I’m being displaced in October. And then I’ll have severance for most of next year. Can I enroll in a flexible spending account for 2026?
4,000 will not be just from layoffs
Salesforce is at the front of this shift, with CEO Marc Benioff peddling his “Agentforce” AI tool and recently touting an AI-driven cut of 4,000 “heads” from his customer support ranks. But this didn’t entail a layoff of 4,000 workers, the company said. Inside the San Francisco tech giant, there’s now a growing effort to soften AI’s job replacement blow.

Tuesday after payday, 9/16/2025
I was on the elevator yesterday with managers talking about a Senior Executive is visiting our site 9/16/2025. When this happens there's always displacements. Please displace me today. Displace me with severance please and thank you. Anonymous.
If there was ever a time to offer voluntary displacements...
The bank wants its on-shore employees to be gone.
Many (most?) of these same employees hate their jobs but are unlikely to leave due to the current job market. It's hard to spend all day in a job you hate and then find the mental/emotional energy after getting home, dinner, etc to job hunt. It's not impossible, but difficult.
Enter severance.
If the bank is worried about high performers leaving, they can stop worrying. Disengaged employees are not high performers. People perform highly when they like their job.
Nearly all employees that would take the voluntary buyout are exactly the employees the bank wants gone anyway.
The bank keeps hoping that people will leave on their own. It's not going to happen. Wells needs to take lead on this.
Until then, the armies of unhappy employees will continue to do the bare minimum. I don't understand how the bank sees this as the better option.
Is Control Management displacement scheduled for 10/14 or 10/28?
Wondering which date I will most likely be hit. Guessing 10/14 to avoid 401k match, but who knows.
Tips on when to file unemployment in Oregon after displacement?
Since I'm still technically an employee during the 60 day period following the notice of displacement (October), I take it I wait to apply after the 60th day (in December)?
After displacement notice, do you still get access to DY resources during 60 day period?
When I'm displaced, will I still get access to Develop You and Pluralsight resources to complete courses for my development?
Did any other displaced employees get an email from Equate Plus
If so, is this about the 2k Shart gave everyone?
Manager keeps asking me about displacement details!
I shared with my manager before about what our site knows about the displacement timeline (month) and now Manager keeps asking me for displacement updates (asking if we will we get a working or non-working notice). Shouldn't managers know that!? AWKWARD and pathetic.
