I joined four months ago, should I be worried about layoffs?

Things are constantly improving
Results are great, but I haven't been here long enough to know if that means that layoffs are not a threat for now? Does Comcast cut people even when results are good? I'm asking because my old company sadly had layoffs even when we were achieving record profit.
Anybody else exhausted from always thinking about layoffs?
Even when we're supposed to be safe, there's always that thought in the back of my mind, ever since we were completely blindsided one time. I just want to be able to focus on my work once again without stressing and worrying, but I don't see it happening any time soon.
Good luck to everyone next week
Whatever happens, don't blame yourselves. This isn't about you. It's about greed and poor leadership.
FIS Reign of Te---r drags on
Some Senior Managers were laid off today.
They are cutting deep, one deserved to go.
All my energy until the next round goes into job hunting
No point in investing in this place. Look at who they cut - nobody is safe, and hard work clearly doesn't matter.
So did small batch layoffs happen today or not?
If we're moving into a phase of quiet, ongoing cuts, that's going to be even more stressful. I can't live every day wondering when the axe drops.
Dear God, Please don't let SAS be bought up by private equity in the future.
Please don't let SAS be gutted by private equity like they already did to many other companies.

Partner Started This Week Only to Walk By Those Being Laid Off
My partner literally just started at Citi as part of the wealth division within the past few weeks. As they were getting their badges and other new hire stuff, others were turning in theirs due to being laid off. Not the most re-assuring for people you just hired lmao.
RIF
Many got RIF notice today. I hope you land in a better place. It’s scary watching people with same job title disappear but nothing worse than experiencing it.
Warning that mass layoffs coming
Sadly this is true. This place is making more layoffs than you can blink. No region will be spared. This is not fake trust me I’m involved in the discussions.
WF is going to strip you of your livelihood, Saint Louis!!
And it will happen soon. CharlieFart and Ikene want us GONE. Hope my parachute opens before the impact occurs but it probably won't, with all of this IM nonsense. We're all circling the bowl over here
Ryan's C Quest- a salesman's folly or inevitable?
This treatment of depression staff has happened under Ryan's watch, and Rajat Taneja is complicit. It was never like this with Al... remember the lockdown tears and family-vibe he instilled? Now a climate of fear.
Question is, is it purely down to Ryan (being a salesman, not CEO material), the shareholders, Rajat... or would this have happened under Al but he saw it coming?
I don't know if it's worse to know the date or not
I just want this round to be over so I can have some peace of mind, even if only for a couple of weeks. I'm terrified of losing my job. It's a bad period in life, too many obligations and reasons to stress. Losing my job would probably bring me to my knees. I hate that it's come to this, but I can't change it right now.
I'm so tired of all this
Made it through this round, but it doesn't feel like winning. This job is just about being afraid to lose it now. Nothing else drives me anymore.
Has the company finished with the layoffs?
Nothing but fear mongering on this site.
This seems worrying
Details are sketchy at best. But it seems like multiple teams in Palo Alto have been ask to put together a "prove their worth" presentation. My direct manager is as lost as I am, but it seems to have come down from above and involves the use of AI. My feeling is this is the start of infomraton probing, Hock has also been meeting with some directors. Something dosen't feel right, but I hate to jump to conclusions. Anyone else having this BS happen or is it isolated?
Groups with more than one LR
If there were multiple people impacted in the group there is a high probability that more will be targeted in August. We lost three good members and more than likely this group and will be impacted soon. MIGs.
What could have been
I think about all the talented people who have left this place not through layoffs but on their own. So many of them left because of ego clashes or small misunderstandings that could have been resolved if anyone had just acted like an adult. Treating people with respect works so much better than ruling through fear. EJ never figured that out.
My luck might be running out
I've survived eight layoffs over the years, but I've got a bad feeling about the next one. Judging by my manager's behavior that suddenly shifted completely, I think my streak is about to end. I was never as worried about cuts as I am right now.
Be careful writing or leaking anything on here
It's not as anonymous as you think
Is it just me or…
Anyone else notice the fear based culture here? It’s like no matter how great you’re doing, you always feel afraid? Upper leadership uses intimidation and publicly humiliates people on calls for performance. It’s strange to me. Maybe it’s normal but it always feels nerve racking.
Nothing makes sense
Metrics, work flow, policies, changes, fear tactics. Nothing is adding up. I am starting to see this Industry in the same light as a consumer.
What a weird time to be "employed"
Constantly being scolded for not automating the fixes we have perform when existing automation/redundancy didn't already fix it. It's funny to see management get irritated that we're not excited about getting rid of the only work we do that keeps us employed, even though it exists because the SREs can't automate it enough to get rid of people.
Are we safe now?
With the whole Cognizant thing done, are those of us who're left behind safe at least for a while?
Ominous "Expense Management" Screensaver
Every time I see this I feel like it's a thinly veiled threat that my job is an expense to be managed.
I'm assuming gunjan was having trouble with english and doesn't know the difference between expense and employee, hence why they started using "colleagues" instead to prevent slip-ups when she talks.
Any new word this morning
Looking to see if any word. I’m scared.
Good to complain about the company
Morale is basically underground, but maybe we shouldn't trash the company yet. If this ship sinks, our bonuses are definitely going down with it.
Bad feeling about tuesday....
I have a bad feeling 3-4000 minimum will be let go :(
Why
Why are we letting leadership make unilateral decisions without pushback? The push for full-time office work feels unreasonable and out of touch with what many of us actually need to do our jobs well.
It seems like a culture of fear has been created where people don’t feel comfortable speaking up, so whatever is decided just goes unchallenged. Is there a way for us to collectively raise concerns or push back in a constructive way
Are we done yet?
so now what?
is today the last day of layoffs and tomorrow and thurs are the 'reshuffle the deck', deck of cards that are 2's and 3's and a couple 7's of clubs
russian roulette done, now time for low stakes poker and playing bad hands
what a joke this is, every year, there's nothing left of us, no hope, no ambition, just fear and low energy
all the wind taken out of our sails
that phk celebration gonna be real fun, but then again, the east campus seemed untouched, so I guess ol tech doesn't matter
time to move on if you haven't already........for those that remain, spend all energy on new opportunities.....this place isn't going to let anyone else retire from...those days are over....long tenured.....big red x on back.....just how it's playing out
Anyone got invite for tomorrow? I got one and its little scary for me.
Anyone got invite for tomorrow? I got one and its little scary for me.
I wouldn't be sad if I got laid off
Every job has its pros and cons, but here the bad has been steadily outweighing the good for years. I've got some savings, and I'm not exactly optimistic about the job market. But begging to stay and being consumed by fear over losing the job? Not happening, even though leadership would clearly love to see us on our knees.
Well there's no sense in working hard next week with the massive layoffs looming.
Wait and see if you're chosen to stay.
Purpose of This Site - Gone Off the Rails
This site should be one that provides information for those who have been affected by a layoff. It has devolved into name calling, bashing the company, and just saying mean things about current employees. Seriously, if you just want to say mean stuff, go post on Twitter.
There are repeater posters on here that are doing nothing but trying to scare people that all is lost. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
I've been so afraid of layoffs for so long that I've gone completely numb
Zero investment in work. Zero care. Lay me off. Fire me. I honestly don't give a damn anymore. Living under the constant threat of being cut was never sustainable.
May first week layoff confirmed
Confirmed by a senior leader.
It’s frustrating that they do not see how it’s impacting productivity of the entire workforce.
Reduce the workforce by 50% and let the other 50% do their job in peace. Right now , no one is doing their full potential because it’s always layoff axe on their necks.
In a really bad phase
Being asked to move. I will be sole-earner. I can move but I am seeing a lot of surpluses right after move. So am wondering if I will be jobless in new location, if there are more surpluses. Did anybody find themselves in this situation?
