Starbucks laid off today (not relocated to Nashville) 61 tech jobs in their Tech Support Center. AI continues to claim the tech industry in the greater Seattle area. Even less places for the laid off Seattle Tech Support folks to go.
What a stupid "Sherlock" and over watch process...
To layoff TAC engineer, Sherlock is created few years ago to take case. Until now more and more cases should be touched by Sherlock first. He even can't handle an RMA case and can't understand customer's problem description.
What a stupid guy, he brings too much troubles for TAC engineer and now there is an "overwatcher" process to help train Sherlock.
TAC help Sherlock to layoff TAC??? What a stupid company!!! Customers are willing to buy stupid Cisco products and services? ridiculous
Why is Webex TAC still exist?
Most of their cases are general inquiries with zero technical complexity and could be easily handled by AI. Every new ticket opened is nothing but a CAPEX/OPEX to Cisco.

Back to office
So Apparently PNC will require all "In-Scope" employees to go back to the office five days a week starting May 4, 2026.
Some of my coworkers and other people I've talked to while doing technical support for the PNC employees feel this is a move to get people to quit in order to avoid having to lay off people.
OneX su-ks so hard
Anyone else notice that OneX su-ks on Sunday when the whole company is trying to do markdowns and fulfillment? Jeez Louise it's annoying!!!! And we've been getting weird errors on it saying it can't retrieve the info or whatever. Macy's tech is useless for these issues. They'll just ask me if I rebooted, used a new battery, or tried to reenroll it.

Best Buy cuts jobs in Geek Squad and customer service teams
Best Buy Co. is reducing its workforce across multiple departments, including its Geek Squad technical support team, Bloomberg reports.
The consumer electronics retailer confirmed it is laying off employees from both its customer care division and in-home field teams. A company spokesperson described the impact to Bloomberg as affecting "a very small number of workers."

40 percent of the tech support staff were laid off.
Is that even possible? These are the numbers sent from their communications, sound like support will be gone from Oracle soon. This is such a high number.
