It's posted in the WARN NOTICE that Cigna was going to do lay offs on the 29th yesterday. The next date is May 20th what a Mother's day gift!!!!!

Basically this is a way for a company to downsize older workers (and their higher salaries ) without breaking the law. Its not so much about making it less brutal.

The rest of the workforce is told it's less brutal because those who take severence are about to retire anyway. It simply accelerates that choice.

Legal Requirements

They had layoffs on March 19th, cutting just under 100 people, again yesterday April 23rd and rumor has it there will be another one on May 22nd. Under 100 means they don’t have to disclose anything and keep on going.
