How long before we can expect to start seeing changes?
I'm sure the new CEO will want to put his stamp on things as soon as possible, but I doubt he'll want to rock the boat too much from the get go. I'd like to see him start cleaning house on day one but I realize that's too much to expect. But I also hope he doesn't wait for too long.
Feedback used to matter
These days, I swear telling someone your thoughts is like yelling into a canyon. Nothing happens, nothing ever changes, even if it's something that could help significantly speed up things. There's no point in trying anymore. It’s easier to nod and move on than to waste energy trying to fix anything.
Something wicked this way comes
One of our core values is 'Embrace Change '. And you will be penalized if you don't. Any concerns voiced about the negative impact of some changes get you referred to HR for a talking to about teamwork.
It does not seem like they are as concerned about being a great place to work for all as they are about putting on a show about it. A real shame as they used to be great.
I was just getting used to the new logo

What’s happening with pension?
Long held rumours of pension changes.
What’s the scoop?
Will there be benefits changes?
Rumors down south are that there will be changes to benefits and enforcement of in office presence.
Anyone have insights re pension changes from DB to DC or other? Elimination of EDOs?
Message to Cisco: STOP with the NAME CHANGES!!
Cisco cannot help itself!! They confuse everyone! Especially our ENTIRE CUSTOMER BASE!
Renaming Firewalls, Routers, Switches, FMC, CDO, HyperFabric, NEXUS HyperFabric, Nexus switch, 6000 series switch, ki-l the Catalyst Brand, bring it back, Just Cisco 8000 series…. ISR, Catalyst Router, 8000 Series Cisco Secure Router, Tetration, Cisco Secure Workload, AMP, Cisco Secure Endpoint, Cisco Smart Switch, WCS, Prime, DNA Center, Catalyst Center….DCNM, NDFC and whatever great ideas are next — Impact, GSX….
For the love of G-d people!!! Quit renaming EVERYTHING EVERY TWO YEARS!! No wonder Gartner and everybody else is so D@mn confused at our strategy!!
Pick a name and stick with it! Use actual NAMES! A PRODUCT DESCRIPTION IS NOT A NAME! Tetration was easy to remember and had a nice ring to it. Cisco Secure Workload is a description! Not a name. Everything becomes acronyms when you name products long descriptions.
Cisco Marketing has multiple personality disorder! Straighten it out now Chuck you big lug!
Nothing Will Change Unless….
Nothing will change with layoffs and outsourcing to low cost/low skill sites unless…
- Stock price suffers
- Government intervention
- Major incident, eg. Valdez, Texas City ….
Don’t expect anything more from our selfish, self gratifying leadership.
Title Changes
I see there are many title changes across PEP. Should I be concerned if my title didn’t change? Worried about restructures and org changes.
benefits changes
I'm really frustrated to learn that Truist will be cutting its $500 deductible and co-pay medical insurance plans in 2026. From now on, they'll only offer high deductible plans with no co-pay option. It feels like they keep stripping away employee benefits with each passing year. What’s going on?
So, what’s the master plan?
Is there even one? I can’t see any vision behind these layoffs. It just feels like the same old story - more work for fewer people, with nothing else really changing
Sherman - offers recended
Has anyone else heard offers have been recended to employees in Sherman? Some were promised roles in other fabs last year. I've heard the offers are no longer being honored.
Already losing faith in the H1B Visa Plan
They told us on video this was 100k per year for all the H1B Visa holders, or all 600K. Now its a 1 time fee of 100K for 3 years, its only for non us grads so like only 60K out of the 80K new H1B Visa's. Talk about a walk back, that's like only 1/10th of the original stated headcount. What a let down.
For those with a H-1B Visa status at mm
I hope our mm colleagues with a H1-B visa returns to the states before the EOD as"an executive order on Friday requiring US employers to pay a $100,000 application fee for the visa program. The order takes effect on September 21 at 12:01 a.m. ET."
Does this mean if you currently have one and it expires chances are you won't have employment because I doubt mm will pay that price for anyone plus income.

100k H1B Visa fee
The president just signed an EO adding a 100K fee to the H1B Visa application, per year. Is that per position or per hiring company? Amazon had 10,000+ of these Visas last year. Does that mean we will see more job openings in tech?
Stops Ageism ?
I am 50+ and facing job search issues like anyone my age in this market after the recent layoffs. The H1b law passing perhaps will stop ageism as new grads wont come cheap as they used to
US New 100k$ charge for hiring h1b
Excited to see how state pans out with this one :) they’ve taken advantage of this system for so long and I am so very excited they will need to start paying to back up these poor decisions.
H1B Visa Price increases
It looks like El Presidente Donald has increased H1B prices from $4,500 to $100,000 each for companies, curious on how/if this will change TIAA’s outsourcing efforts?

H1B Visa Costs to go up 100x?
Looks like the cost of a H1B Visa may be going from $1,000 to $100,000. Walmart may have entered the FO part of FAFO. Those Q3 budget talks going to be crazy.

Our contracting firms use H1b to save 25%. This new fee destroys Nike’s contracting model. Leadership will probably try offshoring more but those individuals juggle 3 jobs concurrently and don’t do any real work.
Things have been falling apart the last few years and it’s only going to get worse. This is going to be such a dumpster fire.

They will have to hire Americans again
H1-B just got a lot more expensive
(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump is expected to sign a proclamation as soon as Friday that would move to extensively overhaul the H-1B visa program, requiring a $100,000 fee for applications in a bid to curb overuse, according to a White House official familiar with the matter.
