Why are there MDs arm-twisting their staffs to complete the code of conduct that we have a month to complete? Same with the feedback theater. Is this what scores points now - harassing staff to get meaningless things done ahead of the deadline?

A longtime AT&T employee in New Jersey has filed a federal lawsuit alleging age discrimination and wrongful termination.
The suit, filed March 31 in U.S. District Court in New Jersey, claims Daniel A. Zuckerman, 62, was demoted and ultimately fired last year without warning in retaliation for opposing discrimination and seeking legal advice.
A longtime AT&T employee in New Jersey has filed a federal lawsuit alleging age discrimination and wrongful termination.
A spokesperson for AT&T called the lawsuit “baseless,” and said the company will defend itself in court.
“This employee was not a victim of discrimination: he was given a new job assignment during an organizational restructure, and he was terminated for violating our Code of Business Conduct,” the spokesperson said.
Zuckerman, of Hillsborough, started his career at AT&T in May 1985, according to the lawsuit. He spent nearly 40 years climbing the ranks before he was fired from the company’s Bedminster office on Jan. 27, 2025.
At the time, he held the role of level-three director as a member of technical staff. However, days before his termination, he was notified that he would be demoted to level two associate director in cybersecurity, effective Feb. 1, according to the complaint.
Zuckerman claims he has never received disciplinary action or a negative performance evaluation during his tenure.
The lawsuit alleges that AT&T maintains a corporate culture of age discrimination which encourages older employees to leave voluntarily, and favors younger employees.
Zuckerman also claims he was instructed in 2014 not to hire a highly qualified 56-year-old candidate because of the candidate’s age.
The lawsuit says the age discrimination originated with top leadership. It points to remarks by former CEO Randall Stephenson in 2016 about AT&T’s aging workforce and need to reinvent itself, and alleges current CEO John Stankey made “outrageously offensive” ageist statements.
During a July 2023 town hall, Stankey stated that the workforce needed younger employees to better match the U.S. population, according to the suit.
Coffee badge reporting
Just like the other poster who reported a coffee badging colleague, I think it’s all our duty to do this. Coffee badging is a business code of conduct violation, as evidenced by the recent Code of Conduct training and the article about being deceptive about working time and location using a mouse jiggler. You can anonymously report the coffee badging activity using the Speak Up or ethics hotline I believe. I haven’t done this since I haven’t seen anyone do it myself in person, but I think that guy who reported his colleague, didn’t do anything wrong. In fact, it is in line with the TIAA code of conduct to report an ethics violation. If HR does anything about it, that’s up to them. But technically it is our duty as employees to report this type of behavior.
Is there any employee rules that state Boeing employees that have company provided laptops must be logged on during work hours?
I can’t find any specific Boeing rules stating that. I’m asking because I have not logged on my computer during my shift for months now except for about five minutes before my shift ends to input my work hours. Our manager has been out for months on LOA for family reasons. If HR contacts me, I’m really not sure how they can due to my not reading or responding to any emails sent to me. If HR gets lucky getting a hold of me, I’m going to tell them there is no specific employee rules stating that I must be logged in my computer during my work hours. The Code of Conduct we are required to sign does not specifically state employees with company provided computers must be logged in throughout their working shift. So I believe I’m safe and not going to worry about it.
New Code of Ethics = curious timing
Did you know:
NYSE-listed companies must adopt and disclose a code of business conduct and ethics applicable to all directors, officers, and employees, per SEC-approved rules. These rules cover conflicts of interest, compliance with laws, insider trading, and reporting of illegal behavior, and must be posted on the company's website.
Interesting that Jones just rolled this out when this is a requirement for publicly traded companies listed on the NYSE. But we're not for sale, right? I'm sure the timing of the rollout is just a coincidence.
BILL ROGERS/PA COMFORT?
any merit to this? Its a code of conduct violation if true which means immediate termination.
PepsiCo Code of Conduct is a joke
So every year we employees have to do “training” about the PepsiCo code of conduct. This is the first year in my many years as a Faithful employee where I have felt it is a performative joke. My senior leadership is very much violating said code of conduct by creating a toxic and antagonistic work environment. And it is apparently CEO sanctioned. PepsiCo is no longer the supposed ethical company it claims to be. Anyone telling you otherwise is lying.
Verizon Credo
Ooh still seems we have one:

Seems it’s just about half the length it used to be, and what we lived up to daily, which made us great.. up until our management disregarded it in their daily life’s…

Does code of conduct apply to senior management? Asking for a friend
I got a notification to do the code of conduct training. From memory one of the things included in this training is about treating people with respect. Am wondering if Jane directs and MDs have to take this training.
This needs to be addressed!
Im retired SF! I went to play golf with a buddy today with an 11 am Tee time. So get in the cart and glance to my left where I see a TM on his laptop while drinking a bloody Mary complaining how weak the drink is. I told my golf partner. He walked over to him and asked him if he worked for SF. My partner came back to me and confirmed he worked for SF. My partner asked how does he get away with it. I replied: Just like government since covid this is the WFH we have. My buddy shook his head and said: UNBELIEVABLE!
What is the notice requirement for internal transfer?
Code of Conduct does not mention it.
Reporting AI use
Is it against the code of conduct for an employee to input Truist proprietary information into an AI platform like ChatGPT? To my knowledge, the only AI tool currently authorized at Truist is CoPilot, and it’s being tested by a limited group of employees. A colleague of mine consistently distributes detailed meeting notes within five minutes of discussion, which strongly suggests AI assistance. Since this colleague works remotely, it’s likely they use a personal computer to access ChatGPT and then send the notes to their Truist email. I suspect this could breach the code of conduct, but I’d appreciate any insights or clarifications from others.
Hypocritical Much
With all the Code of conduct , Ethics communications going out, is Having Walter Goggins as the Walmart commercial spokesman a bit Hypocritical? Great actor, funny at times, but much (like 98.6%) of his stuff clearly crosses lines of Code of Conduct. What's the message here Board of Directors ????
