Is something coming in June or not?

This new interview by Dan is the nuke. Feels like everything everyone will be impacted by the news from Dan. He is literally telling us major cuts in high volume will be the norm. Expect layoffs in perpetuity. Everyone in CS is vulnerable. No such thing as safe roles. This will create a lot of chatter in the company expect aggressive moves coming from the top

So what is everyone hearing? Any cuts on the horizon?

Electrolux Consumer Products will lay off 1,255 employees in Anderson, South Carolina. These job reductions are scheduled between July 18 and December 18. Republic National Brewing Company is permanently closing its Lexington facility, affecting 451 workers. Univar Solution USA, Thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services, Hengst Filtration, and Swiss Krono also announced job cuts. In total, seven companies recently notified over 2,100 workers of upcoming terminations.

Somerville Mayor Jake Wilson unveiled his proposed $394 million budget for fiscal year 2027. This plan aims to address an estimated $5.4 million financial shortfall. The budget includes a record investment increase for Somerville public schools. However, it also involved the layoff of 13 city staffers on May 22. Fixing this would take visionary leadership with courage, long-term commitment, and out-of-the-box thinking. Nothing even close is on the horizon. Fiserv will continue until there's nothing left to shovel over to leadership and shareholders. We'll keep existing in an ever-deteriorating culture until we're incapable of managing the cuts, handling the ever-increasing workload, or are replaced by offshore labor.

EPISD declared a financial exigency. This decision followed a four-hour meeting and a 5-1 vote. The declaration allows for cutting 54 teaching positions. Forty contract positions are also being cut. These measures aim to address the district's financial deficit.

Pace Gallery recently cut 50 artists and laid off 50 staff members. This represents a 30% reduction in artists and 20% in employees. CEO Marc Glimcher described the move as a "model correction." He stated the current gallery model is "unfixable" and needs change. The gallery will now focus on representing approximately 80 artists.

Bell Textron confirmed layoffs affecting hundreds of employees. Approximately 285 workers were impacted across three facilities. Locations included Amarillo, Fort Worth, and Wichita. The company also announced a three-week furlough for some staff. These actions aim to align the company with market realities.

I have been told to expect cuts in the coming months, specifically August. As far as recent cuts made, some were expensive and others were not top performers. Who knows. Some of the cuts have gone after long tenured employees, who probably made good money and hefty LTI if they qualified. Replace them with a junior for half the cost.

Confirmed cuts are coming this fall, although this won't be sudden.

Impacted folks will be communicated that they have X number of weeks to transition into a new role within fidelity or negotiate severance.

Some folks will be given till end of year to figure out their fate.

Virginia experienced a notable rise in job losses during early 2026. Statewide, 4,838 layoffs were announced by May 31. This marks a 29 percent increase over the same period in 2025. Ideal US Talent Worker OpCo reported the largest single layoff, affecting 776 workers. Staffing, distribution, and manufacturing sectors experienced many of these job cuts.

I think once everyone learns that FT, who is a large client, is dropping the contract and going with a different company the stock will fall even lower. Well into the 30s. How can you have confidence in the company if they constantly get dropped by clients?

Monumental Sports & Entertainment recently laid off staff. Approximately 30 employees were affected by these cuts. This number is less than four percent of the total workforce. The organization employs around 1,000 workers. Management attributed the layoffs to redundancy and duplicated work.

That's the official termination date for people cut back in March. So is this a mix-up, or is another round really coming that soon? More layoffs are inevitable, I just want to know if another bloodbath is right around the corner.

The York Region District School Board plans to eliminate 249 support staff positions. These cuts include over 200 educational assistants, along with secretarial, IT, and library staff. The board cites a projected 5.1 percent decline in student enrollment for these reductions. However, the Canadian Union of Public Employees blames years of provincial underfunding. Union officials warn these layoffs will negatively impact vulnerable students.

There are a lot of rumors that upper leadership has stated that SLC will be displacing the QA deptments end of June possibly the end of 3rd quarter in Sept. Its also been said that most of SLC will be gone before 2027. Any truth to this?

Please don't assume we're back just because we're hiring. If you've followed the trend over the last few years, OpenText has often hired and then later laid off employees to backfill positions. The current hiring activity alone doesn't necessarily indicate sustained growth.

Anyone else hearing that there is a small layoff planned in the next 2-3 weeks?

At some point, layoffs at SAP stopped being a last resort and started being a standard business tool. Instead of exhausting every other option first, cutting employees is now the main go-to move whenever costs need trimming.

There's growing chatter about people being cut due to less token usage.

If you weren't heavily using your copilot, it's being seen as "you're not growing" and "adapting" to new technology.

It's another metric of punishing people who are efficient while people who used dev assist for simply changing a label on UI are being rewarded.
