We need an investigation into the layoffs

Hear me out!

It was reported that the executive board wanted to lay off 10000 employees. But of those, 3000 quit and others found a job somewhere within the company.

There are also reports that the restructuring expenses cost €3.1 billion.

Now I am no math genius but if I divide 3.1 billion with 3000, that is more than a million on an average. Given how high some salaries are, it is safe to assume that many employees got hundreds of thousands. But definitely not millions.

So where did all the money go?

If you ask around, you'll hear that a lot of money went to Marty Cagan and his company and to third-party consultants who suggested layoffs. I don't know if this is true. But we need an investigation into this.

What is to say that the executive board isn't actually laundering the money through these consultants?

In 2024, SAP expenditures related to restructuring were 10% of the total cloud backlog! Why would any company in their right mind reduce cash flows like this by laying off more employees and also doing share buybacks and paying executive bonuses in millions? And then saying there is no money left for salary increments or bonuses? We aren't even beating inflation and the board is spending money the company doesn't have just to continue with the tooth brushing exercise.

How can we as employees demand an investigation into this?

Investigations are a must!!

Someone needs to investigate Verizon and it's executives. There's no way they aren't hiding things that would get them thrown in prison. Stock manipulation, earnings manipulation, growth manipulation, taking bonuses while laying off employees, allowing outsourced calls centers to steal customers information to then be used by scammers (which we all know come mainly from overseas), ECT ECT. I'm sure the secrets they hide keep them up at night. Enough is enough!!!

Does it really help to go to ethics

when MD retaliates? There is clear documentation of that available, there are credible witnesses willing to speak up. Someone once advised to go to Ethics and not HR as HR will just bury the matter. Ethics may also try to do that, but Ethics reports up the Legal chain not HR. Will Ethics act in case they think there's enough evidence to stand in court if the person decides to sue?
Has there been a single case where an MD has been taken to task properly by Ethics - say being written up or anything else? How does Ethics investigate and/or close a case - they produce a report?

FIS is under investigation for violating the WARN Act in Bellevue, Washington

The law firm Strauss Borrelli PLLC is investigating FIS for WARN act violations. Many of us were laid off this month without notice and this applies to us.

This is their website:
https://straussborrelli.com/2025/07/15/fis-global-warn-act-investigation

From their website:
On July 11, 2025, FIS notified the Washington Employment Security Department of its decision to conduct a mass layoff at its facility in Bellevue, Washington. The federal law, known as the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, requires covered employers to provide 60 days’ prior written notice to employees, their representatives, and certain government parties in the event of a mass layoff or plant closing. We are investigating whether FIS failed to provide at least 60 days’ notice before laying off 133 employees and, therefore, violated the WARN Act.

Fingers and 2 story gums

Hello Gentleman,

I just wanted to let you know that you're under federal investigation even though you both think you're untouchable. I cannot wait to sit across from you in federal court and destroy both of you with evidence. Get ready memaws, Grandmas, and GIGis. You're all going down to the penitentiary.

Does every conduct investigation by HR/ER end up with MAP status?

Let's say you're investigated for conduct, you got drunk and obnoxious many hours after a post-work event. Does that basically always end with MAP (Misconduct Accountability Program) status? That means it's impossible to get higher than a 3 rating, and you also get 0% raise and at most -20% on last year's bonus.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Why: Rosen Law Firm, a global investor rights law firm, continues to investigate potential securities claims on behalf of shareholders of F5, Inc. Investigation into Placement Decisions

I heard there will be an investigation into the placement decisions. Specifically, those who were demoted, received or pay cut or ISP'd. The investigation will be focused on them being replaced by others who were less qualified and/or based on favoritism. There is also the issue of those placed into "undefined" roles. When challenged, HR denied the existence of undefined roles. Why? Because they would need to admit there was favoritism and bias in the selection decisions. For example, one leader campaigned for a new role in a specific department all summer despite being unqualified. They were initially placed in an "undefined" role in that department and then displaced other more qualified people to secure their target role.

The investigation is supposed to be with lawyers - so it's important for everyone to speak up. It won't get ISPs their jobs back, but the pay out could be greater.

U.S. Bank employees report unfair monthly surcharges. If this happened to you, you could be entitled to recovery.

If you worked at U.S. Bank anytime since 2019 and had health insurance through them, you may have been charged extra fees — sometimes $50–$100 per month. These surcharges were added for things like smoking/vaping, keeping a spouse on your plan, or missing certain wellness checkups.
Attorneys are now investigating whether those charges were legal. Employees could be owed compensation if the surcharges violated federal or state laws.

Cisco announces layoffs days after CEO said it won’t cut jobs in favor of AI

Law firm ‘investigating’ layoffs over alleged notice discrepancy, while Cisco brings in a new channel partner chief

Cisco plans to cut more than 150 employees as part of a new round of layoffs, with the cuts coming days after CEO Chuck Robbins said the company would not be slicing jobs in favor of AI.

The latest cuts include 157 employees at various locations in California. The majority of the cuts are are targeted at Cisco's Milpitas campus, with 64 roles being cut at its site in San Francisco. Staff at its former Redwood City headquarters and some roles at its site in Pleasanton are also set for elimination.

A plethora of roles are set to be axed, including juniors as well as executives with VP titles, among those facing layoffs, according to reports.

News of the layoffs comes after Robbins said he didn’t see the networking giant using AI as an excuse to reduce headcount.

"I don't want to get rid of a bunch of people right now," the CEO told CNBC, instead suggesting he wants the company’s engineers to “innovate faster and be more productive.”

AI was among the reasons Cisco cited for cutting 7% of its workforce last August, a decision CFO Scott Herren suggested at the time was more akin to “a reallocation versus a headcount savings.”

Those cuts followed a 5% reduction of Cisco’s global workforce in February 2024, a restructuring move the vendor suggested at the time would maximize shareholder returns.

Did Cisco break the law?
Its latest round of layoffs is, however, being probed by a law firm over claims the company could have violated U.S. labor laws.

Chicago-based law firm Strauss Borrelli said it was looking into layoffs at the networking giant, suggesting Cisco employees facing layoffs may be owed 60 days of severance pay and benefits.

Under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, U.S. employers are required to provide 60 days' notice before mass layoffs. The law firm is investigating whether a WARN Notice was filed with the state of California at least 60 days before the mid-October job eliminations, as affected staff were reportedly only notified on August 13 – despite the dates appearing to line up.

“We are investigating whether Cisco failed to provide at least 60 days’ notice before laying off 157 employees and, therefore, violated the WARN Act,” the law firm said in a statement.

Cisco last week reported earnings that saw it bring in $800 million in AI-related revenues for the fourth quarter of its fiscal 2025, which pushed its full fiscal-year AI-related haul to $2.1 billion.

Robbins told investors that largely all of its AI growth was coming from hyperscaler customers, with two-thirds of AI-related orders tied to Cisco systems, with the remaining one-third tied to its optics portfolio.
