New WFR and cost reduction goals. UPlifted by 15%
Company is uplifting the existing cost reduction and WFR goals to mitigate the memory impact that affected production. Existing cost reduction and WFR was outdated as it under estimated the impact. New target is 15% over and above existing ones. The reason used is more cost savings due to efficiencies from AI and process improvement, of cos all BS and everyone knows it.

BCPS Records Show Planned Staffing Reductions
Internal documents reveal BCPS is preparing for fewer positions. Strategies involve natural departures, removing roles, and leaving some posts empty. This contrasts with public assurances from leadership. Declining student numbers and state funds lead to financial pressure. Specific teaching and administrative roles are targeted for removal.

Layoffs
Overheard a manager across the cubicle talking about a 5% across the board reduction next week. I’m in Jersey City. They are definitely acting like a RIF is imminent.
At the end of the 4th quarter
There will be cuts.
I had a great interview and waited 2 months long for them to tell me the early careers team in my area was full and they couldn’t offer me
Why even post a position when they had a reduction in staff rolls available for this year? I’m assuming due to layoffs.

Security Incidents Increase and Security Team Reduction over 2 Years -
With Brad Arkin at the helm, Salesforce's security team reportedly shrank from ~300+ to 188 engineers over two years, aligning with company-wide restructurings amid AI adoption and efficiency drives. No public data specifically attributes incident spikes to these cuts, but one has to ask. The volume of breaches has fueled speculation about under-resourcing in security.
Do they regret the security headcount drop? No explicit statements, but the incident surge (from sporadic in 2024 to widespread in 2025) and AI backpedaling suggest possible hindsight regrets and prioritizing efficiency over robust defense in a high-threat landscape like Salesforce.
Major Incidents-
Late 2024 – Early 2025 Vishing Wave (UNC6040)
June–July 2025 Major Vishing Campaign (UNC6040)
August 2025 Salesloft Drift OAuth Breach (UNC6395)
September–October 2025 Extortion & Leak Escalation (Scattered LAPSUS$ Hunters)
Late 2025 – Early 2026 Follow-On Incidents
Amazon should not have wasted all their money building the Corp HQ in Seattle. Total waste of money
Amazon is reducing their employee count in Seattle. When the dust settles there will be 1/10 the number of employees working in that building as there are now.

These workers helped people every day, but the company decided it wants to use only full-time workers for this job instead.

This is happening while the company is also looking for a new boss and dealing with some disagreements with its founder.

Management policy changes
The company decided to pause their AI push, as the low hanging fruit has been harvested, and further adoption requires substantial investment and training. To decrease costs, they now aim to reduce the number of MDs by delegating their work to VPs, reduce the number of VPs by delegating their work to AVPs, and to reduce the number of FTEs in India to Indian contractors.

Massive Layoff Coming
You heard it here first. The next layoff for Management and Bargained employees is going to cut deep. Organizations and groups typically not impacted are going to see a significant (30%) reduction in force. This year will also be significant focus on 3rd and 4th levels.
Anybody have the actual numbers left to layoff?
I remember when this first started ppl had very specific number counts. I guess we are at 9,000 left to lay off for 2026. Can anyone give an insight as to how many of those 9,000 left will come out of divestures and how many will come out of actual reduction of employees and how that number is different from normal years low performers reduction?

Didn't see anything on here. BDB had about 4% reduction in force on Jan 9th.

Who in management makes the final decision about who gets cut? SVP? MD?
What's happening with IOL expats?
What's the latest on the IOL expats? Seems like many of them were in scope and were going to be getting communication, as it sounds like the company wanted to reduce the number of expats. Any updates? Are many of them coming back to take jobs back at sites or the office back in Canada? Staying where they are on expat? I'd be surprised if any of them would be getting let go, but stranger things have happened.

20% reduction in staff at Seattle and Oregon Starbucks stores taking effect later this month.
Still too many layers and overlaps
2 years later and massive reduction, there are still layers to be cut in sales, SE, TAM managers and directors. Most of them don't step out of office to engage customers because they can't. The ones in APJ are good example. Glad the SE boss gone back to his country.

Western College recently laid off over 60 employees. This action dissolves about half of these positions and restructures others. The college aims to reduce its budget by approximately $4 million.
