I'd leave if I could

I'm only at this place because my wife has a really good job locally. Otherwise, I'd be long gone. I've worked at several of our competitors, and the issues here are something else entirely. It's like everybody who's here is either just starting out, actively looking to leave, or trapped like I am. It all boils down to management creating an impossible situation for everyone trying to do the work.

I'm indifferent to what happens to my job

I've been here too long. I don't like my job, my latest team is meh, and compensation could be better. I know beggars can't be choosers, and the job market is tight. What I'm saying is that if I'm cut, I wouldn't be sad about it or consider it my personal failure. Regardless of how much corporations like seeing you devastated. I'm confident that if I'm laid off, things will sort themselves out, as they always do.

Sold all my nike shares

Left nike 18 months ago and I had a huge amount of Nike stocks. Sold everything today at a 12% loss. I held nike stocks only because it was part of ESPP. This is my first time losing money on the stock market but it is not the 12% that su-ks! It is the cost of losing out on 17%-20% in the broad index funds. Unless nike does 40%-50%, there is no reason to hold nike for the next few years. Had hopes on EH for a few months but the execution is terrible. Best case for NKE is 70 at the end of the year. Sp500 will do 10% meanwhile.

I am done with following nike - great brand, worst company to work for!

People are running from Fido no matter the pay cut

Lately I keep seeing coworkers walk out for jobs that pay noticeably less (I guess this job market only allows for that), and that says everything about where things stand. The nonstop tension around layoffs has pushed people to a point where any exit feels better than staying. No one even talks about matching their old salaries anymore. The environment has gotten so heavy that most of us just want out before the next wave hits.

If there was VSP, I’d be first at the door

I don’t even care how bad Verizon’s been doing lately or what happens next. I’m overworked, exhausted, burnt out, and I can’t stand this place anymore. After years of hard work, I have nothing much to show for it, and there’s no real path upward, nothing to make me want to stay. If they’re planning massive cuts, they should offer VSP first. I’m sure plenty of us would take it without a second thought, bad job market or not.

Stop telling people to just leave!

Do you have a job you can offer me??? Trust me, a lot of us are trying to get out just so we don’t end up jobless. The job market is absolute trash right now. I’ve been actively looking for a new job for a year with zero luck. In my 15 years in the corporate world, it’s never been this hard to find something better.

Exactly what @rh+1k7f25vy8 said!

I desperately need a way out

I had a huge fight with my manager yesterday. I didn’t back down for the first time over something important, and it exploded into a huge argument that ended with him walking away. All my expertise was ignored, all my knowledge, over a decade of work here... I’m so tired of this cr-p. I want to quit so badly but I can’t. I need this fu--ing job because losing it would be disastrous for my family right now. I know I’m expected to apologize and I’ll probably have to do it on Monday. But I feel so small, so impotent. I want to scream, tell him to go fu-k himself, and just walk out for the sake of my mental health. But I’ve been taking his cr-p for years, and the one time I stand up to him I know I’ll have to take it back even though we both know I’m right. I’m just so, so tired of this cr-p.

Fidelity wins

I’m leaving the industry because of my manager. I have discussed this with my spouse and I cannot take the new culture. I went through all the channels listed in the annual hr trainings and haven’t noticed a positive difference with my manager. I’m a top performer in my department and keep my head down, I’m a low level employee so my mental health is more important.
