New opening
How safe is a new job opening now?
Lay off logic
I'm a Manager and I have had to lay off top raters over low performers because the leader has a vision. I can tell you, ratings have some sway but ultimately no one is safe from the shoulder tap. Keep your options open.
Running Citi into the ground
They cut and cut and cut, and somehow expect things to keep running smoothly. It doesn't work that way. This company could be great, but leadership is ki-ling it one layoff at a time.
Staying far too long
After decades in the workforce, I thought I’d seen it all, until my time at Citi. I stayed way longer than I should’ve, missing the signs while the culture kept getting worse. The amount of spin and dishonesty up the chain was unreal. Looking back... — read more

Citi is done with transformation (data, risk anything else)
It's just too much of a cost center in the eyes of Jane and her EMT's. The expense associated with it is a blot on the balance sheet and has now become unbearable for senior management. They think they can manage the present administration into... — read more

Overheard a manager across the cubicle talking about a 5% across the board reduction next week. I’m in Jersey City. They are definitely acting like a RIF is imminent.
Laid off in NY yesterday and warn notice email
I was laid off yesterday in NY. Got warn notice email few hours later with suggestive dates of separations commencing May 6-14. That means this entire week Citi will be laying off folks in NY (atleast) plus 90 days warn notice up to May.
