Increase in vto? Should we be worried?

Has anyone else noticed the recent increase in VTO offerings across Medicare/Medicaid member services?

Trying to better understand if this is just volume-related or part of a larger shift. If anyone has any general insight or perspective, it would be helpful.

Always good to stay aware of what’s going on.

Employee counts

Whether it’s true or not that the company must slash 50% of the workforce to survive, the number of employees has always boggled my mind. Where are all these people working, what groups, regions? Now we are 2x after the Lex acquisition, and it is even more of a mystery. Who has insight?

Does Optum Insight have any customers

Other than United healthcare and Optum, does Optum Insight really have any customers? This is not a criticism of the worker bees in OptumInsight, but rather a true curiosity about whether that business is viable or if it's all smoke and mirrors. And if it's smoke and mirrors, when will they be "found out"? I worked fairly closely with that business and honestly, I never knew what they actually sold -- because they could never quite articulate it.

Thoughts on next LP?

Curious what everyone thinks about the upcoming LP. I feel like it is too good to be true about uncapping the profits (I think they said this?). Meaning we can go about the fixed return. I might be wrong but it all seems too good to be true. Anyone have any insight as to what is actually happening or what this offer might be?

CMS Rates and Increased Cost of Care

With stagnant Medicare rates and increased cost of care are certain business lines just at the point where they won’t make enough revenue to be worth it any more? From the sounds of it UHG is letting go of many folks who has been performing well overall and the only reason I can think of is what they were doing is no longer profitable enough. I’m not privy to these sort of numbers but I would interested to know if anyone has any insights. This is not meant to be an excuse for the lay offs and the distress to individuals and families they have inevitably caused.

Stock Together program may be discontinued entirely?

I just wrapped up a 1:1 with leadership this week and it sounds like the Stock Together program may be discontinued entirely. I’m holding out hope that it’s simply being restructured or delayed for those of us recently protected, but if it's gone, it’s effectively a $20K pay cut. Does anyone have more insight or 'under the hood' knowledge on what’s happening with the program?

I predict that….

In a few years, someone is absolutely going to write a long-form takedown on how Nike fumbled its Caitlin Clark moment. Generational talent. Cultural tidal wave. Wall-to-wall attention. And still fumbled

This has future MBA case study written all over it.

Service Now

What happened with the big push to move everything to this “new wonderful tool”? I’ve seen a couple apps move, but it seems that forward motion stopped a couple years ago? Any insight other than funding? Seems we’re paying for both now, Service Now & legacy apps?

Global & national context

I thought Dan talking about global and national madness before getting to VZ was quite clever. Puts things in context. VZ madness didn’t feel too bad and kinda expected after hearing all that.

Little manipulative but I guess visionaries have to be little manipulative too

March 2026 Layoff rumor

Does it have any legs?

Also heard that they are looking for volunteers. Bit confused.
If I express interest, then I am exposing my intent to the management which can easily put me in a PIP or find other reasons and kick me out.
If I keep quiet also it may happen but then I missed my chance of volunteering (and may be saving someone who needs the job). I am done with this org and have something else. But I do not want to lose my one-year of potential severance. That is a lot to leave it on the table

Any insight?

If it’s so bad, why haven’t we lost that many clients yet?

It absolutely IS bad, no doubt about it. Every year things have gotten worse and worse. But from a numbers standpoint, have we lost any major clients or even mid sized clients? Or are we just doing well since the market is up and most of our fees are asset-based? I moved out of a finance role years ago so I’m really not close to the numbers as I used to be but would anyone closer have more insight?

AIP

Anyone have any real insight on what AIP will be? Reposting this. Those without real information need not respond as most of what I’ve seen on this site is total bs. Anyone have more than their opinion that they try to pass off as fact?

Provider Network/Client Mgmt/Care Transitions

Does anyone actually know what the life expectancy is for Provider Network/Client Management/Care Transitions roles? Mergers, no direction and messy mix of job roles and responsibilities makes it feel pretty clear at least one, if not all departments/employees will be let go. Does anyone have any actual insights to this?

CSM

CSM team has gone through two round of layoffs already (April and November). I heard more to come after the new year. Anyone has any insight on this?
