Sharing success

Anyone else’s excited for their Sharing Success award! Such a thoughtful thing our company does, rewarding us with a whopping 65 units….
The RSUs and cash bonuses are pathetic.
Meanwhile, BM (Bowel Movement) unloads nearly 17k shares for just under $1m in the middle of each month.

Frontier’s Big Payday

The people lamenting the departure of the Frontier executives have it backwards. Here’s what actually happened:
1- Frontier was loosing money and marketshare
2- Activist hedge funds took a stake in the ailing company and shepherded it through a bankruptcy which reduced its debt
3- They recruited John Stratton, Nick Jeffery and other executives to lead the company after emerging from bankruptcy. Those executives received significant awards of stock and RSUs. The RSUs would vest immediately upon sale of the company
4- Frontier’s situation improved under their leadership although it’s still losing money
5- The hedge funds and the executives got a big payday by selling the company for $20 billion in cash to Verizon. Stratton made about $100 million, Jeffery about $90 million and the hedge funds made billions in profits. The Frontier executives had to resign in order to maximize their payday. They would have been fools to stay.

Switching to another bank/competitor

Hi all, I got an offer at another big bank/competitor. As a VP in risk/controls department, I see that I am required to give a 30 day notice period. Anything less and I will lose my RSU and will be ineligible for rehire.

What is likely to happen if I disclose that I am switching jobs to a competitor and I give my 30 day notice? Will they let me go on the spot, or will they let me finish out my 30 day notice period?

Notice Period

I am not able to get it from the HR site. Eliza is also not helpful in this aspect or I am no good in using Eliza - who knows

Waiting for the 401k matching credit (or should I) and the bonus check. Foregoing the RSUs

Questions are

  1. What is the notice period for SVP level employee?
  2. This year we have 25 days vacation - can these days be used during the notice period - including other time off benefits like Work from Anywhere, paid Safe time and other - are they prorated
  3. How does benefit work during the notice period -
  4. Am I still an employee (and rules bound) or can I be employed elsewhere in parallel
  5. Most importantly, how does compliance work in terms of trading - they can no longer terminate me ... This I wont HR will answer or Eliza can interpret
  6. Since I am leaving voluntarily how does the NDA and IP impact me during notice period and AFTER that (most importantly)

Dear HockTan, thank you for making us rich, and thank you for continuing to support ESG despite our division’s forever poor performance

As you know, many of us in the Symantec and Carbon Black divisions are in a resting-and-vesting mindset. We don’t care whether the division performs well; we only care about the RSUs going into our pockets.

Either you are delusional or clueless about what to do with our division, but please keep us and continue granting us more RSUs.

VSP details

I got the email. I am a high performer so it was not based on that. I suspect the offer is age based to get rid of the high salary folks. I am 62.
Exit date May 31 2026.
Depending on your level 8 - 26 weeks severance (26 weeks is VP level).
RSU - an additional year of vesting.
2026 Bonus will be pro-rated.
30 days continuation Medical
18 Months Subsidized Cobra (you pay what an employee pays).

Thought might be useful info, so bumping the post up. OP: @aq+1kbjqa3b6

G12 RSU and raises

Came in as a G12 employee through a Cisco acquisition. The first year was simply aligning the base pay and bonus to match Cisco. The second year, got full 18% bonus, $45K RSU but no base pay increase.

How is Cisco with G12 comp? Are there annual RSU refreshers and/or base pay increases?

I've also seen posts about how G12 are generally at a higher risk for layoffs. With the company pushing for margins it's making me anxious.

Need advice on RSU vesting.

My RSU will be vesting in first week of Dec but I got laid off as of today 14th. Along with notice period and garden leave, the last day is on Dec 12th. Will i be eligible to receive RSU's or they will forefiet it.

in the offbording package, they havent' mentioned anything specific on RSU's other than saying, the benfits will continue until the last day.

Question About Year 5 Comp and RSU Refresh

For new hires, the minimum total compensation (for example, a $100k base salary + $100k in RSUs) is locked in for the first four years as stated in the offer letter, but that guarantee expires in the fifth year. When I checked the compensation section on my.company.com, it only showed my $100k base salary and didn’t mention RSUs at all.

Can anyone clarify how total compensation works starting in year five? Will the RSU portion remain the same as the amount listed in the original offer letter, or will it be adjusted based on the current market compensation for my job level and performance?

Severance package

Can you anyone advice about severance. I feel the package offered was very low or is it just like this?

Completed 1 year + week
Payout includes : 2 weeks of notice pay
3 weeks pay in lieu
CIP payout
RSU (not sure, if it will be vested, vesting date in mid-dec

Is it expected or can i negotiate and if so what should i ask?

RSUs not part of severance

I’m a GL31, that was laid off. My last day is late November. I have been with Optum for six years, and have been in various roles (including two integrations). During that time I’ve accumulated a decent amount of stock options (all currently worthless at the $400-500 strike price), and stock RSU grants. My next RSU vesting is Feb 21, and would have amounted to about $30K (at today’s share price). I also obviously am not getting a bonus for 2025.

My severance letter is offering to give me 12 weeks of pay, plus a week of unused vacation. No RSUs, etc.

My question is - before I sign my severance agreement, should I have a lawyer attempt to negotiate the inclusion of my RSUs as part of my package? Has anyone done or heard of this being a successful strategy?

I have 45 days after my last day to sign the letter. I feel I’ve put it the vesting time of six years waiting for these stock awards to vest, and that I should receive these RSUs that are just a couple months shy of vesting. Do I have any case?

Thanks for any advice you may have.
