I know of a few people that are g concerned regarding selling their house in the Danville,CA area. This is a tough market to sell a house.

Memphis-based FedEx filed a WARN notice (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) in Texas on Nov. 25. According to the notice, FedEx plans to lay off 856 employees at the FedEx Supply Chain Logistics & Electronics facility in Dallas County. The layoff date is Jan. 29, according to the notice.

No but in all honesty, I moved out to Texas from Chicago for the position I worked. This place, no offense to the native Texas folk out here (you guys are generally pretty great), is a fu--ing shithole. I won't dig into the specifics of why, other than I genuinely can't wait to go back up north where you have a better quality of life. I will not miss this place.

I want to acknowledge that I'm aware of the inherent sensitivity to this subject. Not everyone is in an as fortunate of a situation and that's okay. I feel for you too. I grieved this whole ordeal way before it went down because of this site. I’m from Texas and I recently found out that upper leadership is getting with management and Regional Managers trying to figure out what positions are really needed within the clinic nurses and medical assistants, so I know cuts are for sure coming. So they would rather put more work on staff members, then hire another body. In my honest opinion, they are going to get rid of all the seasoned employees that are getting paid more so they can hire new hires and if you do get laid off, they’ll probably make you take the severance package lose all the years under your belt with the company and then re-hire you at zero years. I was unfortunately part of the first round of layoffs a few years ago and that was part of the package if you take the severance package, you lose all the years under your belt.

PEGATRON Corporation, a leading global provider of AI computing services, has acquired a 168,784-square-foot facility in Georgetown, Texas, marking its first manufacturing site in the United States. This development underscores Texas's prominence in tech and AI industries, with PEGATRON’s investment bolstering the state’s growing tech infrastructure.

The company, based in Taiwan, specializes in the design, manufacturing, and service of a variety of electronic products, including notebooks, smartphones, game consoles, and smart home devices. The new Georgetown facility will help PEGATRON better serve its U.S. customers with improved solutions and services.

The project was made possible through collaborative efforts by the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Opportunity Austin, the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office, and the Austin Regional Manufacturing Association. PEGATRON plans to invest at least $35 million in the facility and hire hundreds of employees, with an initial goal of hiring 100 within the first three years.

The facility, located at 610 Blue Springs Blvd., is set to begin construction by the end of 2025. This is just one more reason why Texas su-ks and needs a complete overhaul from the top down. It is never for the people here with the current regime in power. Examples are:

I work in the BU in Dallas and last week we had hundreds of people laid off but I haven’t seen any exact numbers or big news outlets talking about this at all… I feel like this was a very dramatic cut but I’m confused why the media isn’t talking about that and instead they’re talking about the much smaller December layoffs…
