There has not been any massive layoff at Ansys. Did Synopsis past layoffs offer severance packages?

What is happenin?
Not surprised, just moving on
We were doing really well at Ansys, and we came in here with very competent people. But I always expected it wouldn’t matter. I started preparing my exit as soon as the first acquisition rumors surfaced, and now I’m negotiating a move to another job... — read more
call to share info if you are part of management
Don’t be a wu-s. Do the right thing and be transparent. If there are discussions happening in the upper rooms and you know info the majority of us don’t, come here and spill it. Be anonymous and at least have a shred of humanity, share the tea. You... — read more
Will Ansys non-compete be still in effect?
We are now a California company. Just curious if anyone knows how to deal with the non-complete signed with Ansys?
So will the cuts reach 10%?
It’s so difficult to catch one or two actual pieces of information among all that completely unnerving corporate fluff. Here we are, having no clue about what will happen with our jobs, and we still have to listen to inordinate amounts of meaningless... — read more
Shankless Shankar
Shankar the water buffalo is speaking at the company all-hands right now, talking about Empathy and Respect. What an absolute joke. Open your eyes, ya carpet munching swamp gator, there are people here with families, mortgages, and years of loyalty... — read more
I don't care
Pay me to leave. Go ahead. I dare you. I’ll dance out of here happily. If this was the old Synopsys I knew and loved a decade ago, maybe I’d be upset. Maybe I'd stress over it. But walking away from what’s become an unrecognizable toxic dump? I won’t... — read more
Have you started applying?
I have no intention of waiting for the last moment and then competing with everyone else who’s been laid off for the few jobs that’ll be left. Yes, I won’t get severance if I leave on my own, but frankly, I’d rather have a job than some money and the... — read more
It will get really bad around here
The worst part is knowing this won’t be quick. It’ll drag on and put everyone more on edge by the day. Most of us are just clinging to the hope of keeping our jobs, because opportunities out there are slim to none. That alone will fuel frustration... — read more
Is this confirmed regarding layoffs?
It will be in November, around 35% headcount reduction. OP: @ea+1k50712za
It’s such a shame
Ansys was a strong company on its own. We didn’t need this to happen. It was our work that made Ansys successful, yet now we’re now treated as expendable. Do they even care what happens to performance once so many of us are gone?
Do we know the timeline of layoffs?
Really don’t want this dragged out for months, but I’m afraid that’s exactly what we’re looking at.
Don’t expect this to make sense
I’m willing to bet my paycheck that we will not lose bad performers, but some of our best people. They’ll grab onto this opportunity (read: excuse) to lay off people with higher pay (meaning, people with the most experience and knowledge who’ve been... — read more
I’m worried
Not because I’m crazy about this job or the company, but because it’s really bad out there. My wife lost her job six months ago and still hasn’t found anything even remotely decent or in her field. I’m terrified of becoming jobless too. Honestly, the... — read more
Do managers know already?
I know our direct managers are not the ones making the decision on who's going to be laid off, but is there a chance they know already? My manager is a good guy, but he's been acting a bit weird lately, standoffish, and with this announcement, I'm... — read more
Ansys was performing fine without Synopsys
I’m from Ansys, this entire acquisition has been terrible for morale. We’ve had little to no layoffs in decades operating along, even when we acquired other companies. Ansys was performing fine with no signs of layoffs and record breaking quarters... — read more
10 percent is just the start
This is the opening salvo. If we’re spared and it all hits Ansys’ side, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we hear about more cuts on our side soon after. No acquisition of this magnitude happens without major workforce realignments, and this will be... — read more
Synopsys CEO just announced 10% workforce reduction
Who do you think would be impacted? Majorly Ansys employees? Or What groups?
10% reduction in FY 2026
Coming from Ansys, Ansys had very few layoffs over the years. Acquisition by synopsys is the worst thing.

More layoffs
Ridiculous. Greed greed greed. All to buy Ansys.
Synopsys had a layoff today
The group where I work lost 2 people. But I can't tell how many people were laid off by the company.
Any layoff news ??!
Was wondering if there is any news about layoffs ??
so... about synopsys getting rid of their software integrity group
That was a very strange announcement... announce to wall street before you division, and before a buyer is lined up? What is the real reason they are getting rid if this so quickly? I have seen at least 2 layoffs so far this year, and they have... — read more
Layoffs are here..
I heard there are some layoffs happening in the North America offices, maybe other locations too. Verification and Implementation AEs are impacted. Not sure if any R&D impacted as well.
Any word on layoffs?
Please post if anything in in the works.
Between layoffs and attrition, there's barely anybody left to do the work
I think we'll have to start hiring more aggressively soon, there are too few of us and too much work that needs to be completed. I think the leadership didn't plan ahead when laying off/encouraging people to leave and now we're in a position where we... — read more
News on more cuts?
It's been a while since we had any news on more layoffs. Is this a reason to celebrate or should I worry that something major is brewing?
