Anyone else feel like we’re no longer transforming the business, we’re transforming the transformation? New LOB leaders. New-old CTO. CDO gone. Buyouts. New operating model. Morale in hospice. At this point, the org chart has changed more often... — read more
What a waste.
Having worked for this company for many years, I can’t tell you enough about all the “fluff” six-figure upper leadership roles that are simply created to promote up, and aren’t even needed. Wasted money. And here we are.

The worst part of it all
We all know an involuntary round is coming, and it'll most likely have a lesser package attached to it. So those of us who want to stay can say no to a VSP just to end up laid off a few months later and with less to show for it. Kind of makes it... — read more
Work feels
I don’t want to do any work, clearly why should we work when Sarah doesn’t give a damn about anyone but greedy self. Sarah is a character she talks about the struggles of her mother and what she did for her on LinkedIn for Mother’s Day. Than she... — read more
One CenTeam?
If we were really a team then anyone with a C &O or VP in their job title would take a pay cut. You know the ones making millions of dollars per year. Employees over 60 years old who already qualify for social security benefits and can access their... — read more
Burn Out/Mental Fatigue/Psychological Warfare
So I have been wondering since this all started who they consulted to come up with this bright idea. You take an already understaffed and burnt out workforce, who is constantly being told to do more with less supports and people. Then you notify... — read more
Why VSP?
This voluntary layoff program is probably just the first phase of a broader restructuring. Look at the tech companies, Amazon just did this prior to their massive layoff this year. Companies start with voluntary exits to reduce headcount quietly... — read more
Admins at Centene?
How likely is it that they eliminate administrative staff? On the one hand, they wouldn't function well without us, on the other hand they constantly underestimate how much operational impact we have. I'm just getting tired of worrying about job... — read more
Can any Managers of Directors confirm if they got the VSP?
Did any managers or Directors receive the VSP email? PLs have been completely silent and nonexistent about the VSP.
When Transparency Disappears
This is being presented as an individual choice, even though that choice may ultimately be denied if you decide to apply. The eligibility criteria are intentionally broad, which helps protect the company from age or demographic discrimination... — read more
Why not cut the multitude of VP layers?
We have a TON of VP layers, some of which have no true direct reports. Why not start cutting there and leave the ICs (who actually DO the work!) alone? This company is severely top heavy. That’s where they should look to cut first.
Morale shot to he-l!
I do not understand why this company would choose to send every department into a tailspin of nerves and anxiety for the next 2 months. Morale is completely gone and employees are paralyzed with fear. Who is actually working at this point? No one... — read more
Any News/Leaks
Having 2 months to dread on this is horrible. Has anyone heard any numbers on how many people they need to remove? Departments getting hit? Anything? If you're taking the VSP, what company are you trying for?
irrational dwelling
Obviously, none of us REALLY know what is going to happen. BUT, what do you think the chances are: for those who choose to apply for their offer – that, Centene turns around and denies the submission of interest, and/or comes back and says: just... — read more
Thoughts….?
I know employee buyouts are common and recently there have been many companies implementing this. But to offer it to practically an entire workforce is unheard of, at least as far as i know. What are some of your thoughts as to why they are going... — read more
How likely is it that management would actually deny a VSP application?
I have a fairly uncommon skillset, and I'm worried they might block me from leaving. If they do, I guess I could ask for a raise, but that would probably just get me laid off anyway LOL.
13 years
13 years as a nurse and scared of the unknown. Afraid the final pay out will be leas than the “expected” amount. Want to know what the “agreement” states before hand. Praying for everyone!
Centene Layoffs

Meridian Michigan?
Has anyone heard whether Meridian (a subsidiary of Centene) will be affected by VSP or future layoffs? I'm relatively new and I heard a rumor here in Michigan that we are canned!
VSP are not very clear or informative (not unlike every other thing at Centene)
Now let's figure out how this is ok. I looked over the VSP, not in detail so I might have missed some things, however, these are my questions: what happens to your sick/accrued PTO? Did not notice any mention of this. lets say that you do not... — read more

Not eligible for VSP
I just had my 6 month anniversary on Monday so obviously I am not eligible for the VSP. I am thinking there is a good chance I will be laid off by September 1st? Do you think that is how it will go?
Just checked VSP
Centene is a such a trash company, 11 years here and the offer I received was horrible. Sarah thinks this route is the best way to go, she is going to lose a lot of people. She needs to pony up and pay her share of destruction she made. Shame on her — read more
Triple the work at the same pay
Everyone knows what's going to happen when the dust settles: Everyone left will be extremely overworked and not compensated for it. People will make $20 an hour and do the job of three people. We're just cogs in a massive machine.
A question
If I accept the VSP, do I have a better chance of being accepted then if I were to accept on Jul 1? Somebody asked this in another thread with no answer so far. I'm hoping somebody here might know since I'm curious about it as well.
