The job market is terrible and is the only company that would accept me. Should I join as a CW or perm?

Delay in recent offers
Curious does anyone have any context why there is a delay on any job offers from the recent jobs posting? Many have slowed down after final interviews.
Laid off in December. Received email from BNY recruiter about current job openings
I was part of the mass layoffs in December. The other day I received an email from a recruiter about a few contract to hire openings that they felt I’d be a good fit for. They found my resume on one of the job boards that I’m using. I stated that I was part of the mass layoffs and the recruiter stated the were aware and had roles they needed to fill.
It’s sounding like they know they sc--wed themselves and are scrambling to fix it.
What a giant slap in the face.
Is it a good idea to accept a job at Verizon right now?
Do people get laid off within the first several months of employment? I desperately need a job, but I don't want to join, stop my search, and end up on the street again within months. Thanks in advance.
Any sites/programs hiring FPGA engineers?
Got laid off and looking for fpga positions
Laid off and aftermath
I was laid off in December. There was no non compete agreement to sign. I had 4 interviews with competitors lined up after the holidays and accepted a role with one to start in February. I brought all of my knowledge with me. And I’m making 15% more. Life gets better after this dumpster fire.

Withdrawal of New Grad Offers
hey everyone, I’m a new grad here and I got a job offer from KPMG to start in September but I’m hearing rumors that they might push start dates back and possibly even withdrawal offers. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this before? Thanks a lot.

Job offer Director of client accounts & strategic partnerships
Hey guys, I’m just trying to get a feel for the overall take of the position that was offered to me. Long-standing experience in banking, but the last seven years in payment processing. Anything I should be aware of? Be candid my friends - I’d appreciate it!
I had a great interview and waited 2 months long for them to tell me the early careers team in my area was full and they couldn’t offer me
Why even post a position when they had a reduction in staff rolls available for this year? I’m assuming due to layoffs.
Amazon Cuts Marketing Lead Kent Hollenbeck
Kent Hollenbeck was impacted by Amazon's latest layoffs. He served as marketing and brand lead for fulfillment technologies and robotics. Amazon plans to eliminate about 16,000 corporate jobs. This follows 14,000 job cuts in October, totaling 30,000. The company aims to strengthen its organization and reduce bureaucracy.

How to manage Severance
I am getting 22 weeks of severance and I don’t want to lose it. However I may have the ability to come back and am in interviews next week. My last day is 2-6-26. If I ask this new division to wait until the 7 days after I sign my severance to offer me the job, can I keep the severance? I need to work but don’t want to lose the money.
Anyone here who tried to leave the company accept a counter offer to stay?
Have another job opportunity elsewhere, just like several of you folks our team is pretty understaffed, and it would be almost impossible to do a knowledge transfer session during my last two weeks. I assume I may get a counter offer, and if the salary is high enough, I’d be okay with staying. Although I’d be concerned that I’d be targeted for the next layoff…. Anyone been in a similar position or any advice?
Will they ever try to offer you a position you qualify for to avoid paying severance?
I have another degree and certificate but don't wish to work as that for Optum....when they are considering layoffs so they look at your resume and try to offer another job to get out of paying you severance
To take an offer or wait for a package?
I have a job offer to escape this place, but it's not ideal. If layoffs are definitely coming soon, I might wait it out for the severance and look for something better. Any solid info on timing?
Job offer
I have an offer for work but with the current situation developing in the region im unsure if I should? Would appreciate some insights and if there is a real risk.
Hiring
I’m a external candidate wondering if they have started rehiring
Contemplating to stay vs taking another offer
I am considering an offer from a global company where I will mostly be managing/co-developing a team of developers building a product. The downside is I might be the only one on-site in the city and rest are spread across the world. RTO is 2 days a week 40 miles away.
I have a pretty good standing at T but just afraid of all these lay offs and relocations to god knows where. What do you guys think makes sense to do here?
When to provide notice and still get bounus
I have received another offer and plan on leaving. However, I want to ensure I still get my bonus. What are the rules around that and when should I put in my notice? I obviously can’t ask HR or my boss this type of question…

Tip
Instead of offering redundancy waters will offer you a new role.if you give it a go for 4 weeks it is deemed you have accepted a new contract and not entitled to redundancy.
New job and severance
I was laid off recently and might be starting a new job pretty soon. I’m worried about whether taking another role so soon could affect my severance. It wasn't much but I still don’t want to accidentally mess something up. I'm just trying to figure out how careful I need to be.
Job offer at Target
I have been interviewing at Target HQ and today I received a job offer! Target seems like a great place to work at. I’m leaning more towards accepting the role. I know they have had layoffs but I think that is ok, my job should be pretty safe. They were all really nice too. Any advice? I need to accept by Tuesday.
BEWARE - only trust the offer letter
Some folks are being offered roles with their supervisors saying “don’t worry this won’t be the actual job when the time comes, we’ll get you something better” or “no worries, this says same CL, but you’ll likely get a CL increase next year.
Do not trust any verbal commentary that does not make it into a written guarantee whether in the offer letter or an email from your supervisor that you review with a lawyer. Now is not the time to believe some wishful hypotheticals. Now is the time to trust no one except the piece of paper that your lawyer explains to you and you are comfortable with.
Only assume they will give you what the offer letter says.
Also, if your offered job starts in 2027, assume that you may not get a salary increase Jan 1, 2027. Ie same pay all of 2026 and 2027.
OCI Salary
I am currently working at Cisco, Sr Tech Leader title.
Base: $260k
Bonus: 15%
RSU: 75k/year (for next 4 years)
I cleared CMTS interview with OCI recently. They are offering $230k base and $600k RSU, no bonus. Shall I take the offer? They told me that this is the max they can offer for IC5 and they can't hire for IC6. Why the base pay is so low for IC5?
Has anyone been getting job offers?
After eight interviews, one of which went for five rounds, I still have nothing. I’m starting to develop a complex.

Finally landed an offer
It’s not bad, but it’s nothing special either. Still, after months of searching for alternatives, it feels like a win. And I really, really need to leave Dell behind. This past year has been something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Fingers crossed it works out. I’ll be keeping them crossed for all of you as well. May we all eventually liberate ourselves from the twisted parallel universe Dell has fallen into.
Should I join state street?
I'm told I will get an offer next week. It will be at MD level, in audit. Would I regret it? I have a pretty good setup where I am. Pay would jump a good bit but I would lose my comfort and I don't want to come over if the place is in constant layoff fear. I know how that poisons the culture from a past employer.
A great offer came my way, but I just started my current job
I've only been here for a few months, and a fantastic opportunity at another firm just landed in my lap. With this job market, I know how lucky I am, especially since this is a role I've wanted for years. While my current job is fine, it doesn't compare to this new offer. How bad would it look if I left so soon after joining? Especially long-term on my resume?
