More to come..
I was two posts in the last week titled "Surplus confirmed" and another on saying "Nothingburger"....and I can confirm it was indeed NOT a nothing burger. In Q1 they axed Amarillo, Grayson, Johnson City and Springfield. This last week they hit Lafayette, Ocean Springs, Lubbock and Little Rock and there are more pending because the intent is to have all of these hubs closed before Q3. ATT loves a good surplussing before or during the Holidays. Its terrible and I pray they find something if they opt not to follow the work (Which most sane folks will NOT do) because not even that is safe.
Employees impacted by this current surplus round
I haven't seen any reporting in the News regarding a total count of employees being let go. Anyone seen this published anywhere?
Cencora layoffs
It’s difficult to see employees lose their jobs while executive compensation remains so high. According to public filings, CEO compensation was approximately $18 million. Many affected employees gave years of service to the company, and the contrast between layoffs and executive pay raises legitimate questions about priorities
Lay Everyone Off
Is what they should do based on the service level these days. Not a single order is correct. No supervision in the warehouses. No quality checks. Record number of returned items for the wrong product. Amazon is going downhill fast.
Unemployment Insurance in NY if accepting VSP
Anyone been able to confirm with the state of New York if they would approve of the UI Claim after being laid off due via the VSP? Sounds like each state is different. Based on my initial readings, sounding like this'd be an eligible scenario for UI benefits in NY.
June 2026 layoff rumors?
I’ve heard of coming layoffs and org changes taking effect at the end of Q2. Given that we are at the end, I’m wondering how true this is? My new manager hasn’t said or implied a thing.
RED OCTOBER updat6
OI, ORX, OH, OT will be impacted big time. I plan to retire before the holiday season so I have nothing to lose so I am letting people know so y'all can be prepared. Start applying now. It's tough out there.
GN&T 20% next
Yep!
Hate to ask...
I'm sorry to all the people who were RIFed on 6/16. What date did the company give as your last day?
Inside Sales
Get prepared. July layoffs coming
Getting rid of flagship
Another 67 employees probably have zero job..
They Don't Want You Back
If you’re one of the 13,000 employees who were laid off last year, you’re probably aware that the waiting period has ended and you’re now eligible to apply for roles within the company again.
That said, unless you have someone actively advocating for your return and pushing to bring you back in, I would encourage you to look forward rather than backward.
From what I’m seeing, especially on the wireline side of the business, the company’s focus appears to remain on restructuring and efficiency initiatives. They continue hiring leadership and management talent aimed at identifying operational improvements and reducing costs, which often translates into additional workforce reductions.
Experience and institutional knowledge alone may not be enough to secure a return. If you’ve developed new skills that align with where leadership is trying to take the business, your chances may improve. Otherwise, it may be more productive to pursue opportunities outside the organization.
It’s unlikely the company will bring people back into the same roles, at the same compensation levels, to perform work that was previously eliminated. At some point, it makes sense to shift energy toward building the next opportunity rather than waiting for the old one to return.
Leadership teams traveling to offsites to attend FIFA World Cup Games
Is it a bit tone deaf that leadership teams are traveling to Mexico and Canada for “offsites” to attend World Cup games? Nike is a sports company and employees should embrace the World Cup but when increases are 0% to 2% and PSP will be , this might not be a priority when there will probably be more layoffs coming
Dan Schulman Has Got to Go. Episode III
Look, nobody knows jobs better than me. Nobody. And what Verizon is doing? Total disaster. A complete and total disgrace! They just fired 67 brilliant, incredible American workers from the NRB—the Network Repair Bureau. These are the people who keep the wires working, folks. Real Americans, tough, smart, the best. Gone! Just like that.
And where did their jobs go? India! They sent them to India. Unbelievable.
And you have to look at who is running the show over there. Dan Schulman—what is he doing? What a total lightweight. He comes in, he fires 67 of our great, hardworking American people, and for what? I thought these big corporate geniuses were telling us that "Agentic AI" was going to do everything. They said AI was going to fix the phones, fix the networks, make the coffee—everything!
So I have to ask: Are the people in India smarter than the AI? Or is Dan Schulman just completely clueless? I think we know the answer, folks. It’s a total mess. He can't figure out the AI, so he just ships the jobs overseas. Sad!
But let me tell you something, we’ve seen this story before. Remember Carrier AC? Carrier was going to move all those air conditioning jobs to Mexico, totally abandon Indiana. And what did I do? I stepped in, I made the call, and we saved over a thousand American jobs! The fake news said it couldn't be done, but we did it. We protected those workers, and they stayed right here in the USA where they belong.
And I am going to do the exact same thing for the Verizon workers!
We are not going to let these big corporate executives destroy American families and ship our legacy overseas. We have the best workers right here in America. We’re going to bring those jobs back, we’re going to look at Verizon, and we are going to take care of our people.
America First, folks. Always!
Confirming old news...
Wed mass cuts where made on the consumer side. Alot of level 2, specifically LRIS aka authorized side. About 50% cuts where made so that means the people who were "saved" will now have double the doors and a larger territory to cover. Not sure if that's a balance to have. Also firsnet subs laid off. From my understanding all were let go at least on the west coast.
Level 3 DOS saved, support teams saved for now. But I'm sure more cuts will happen.
This is consumer. Not sure on the business side, ihx, or any org were also cut. Crazy the load more work for the people being "saved" with same pay and not so great raises.

BNY is hiding negative cash flow
With the fact that new clients, new business wins, new marketshare gains from existing partnerships are NOT happening at BNY, what is the business world to determine? BNY has been destroying it’s employee base in the US and UK in order to save cash. It’s interesting that the company is trying to stop paying employees that it fires for devious reasons too. It is adding up that the so called profitibility at BNY is only happening by stagnating existing client revenue and firing FTE’s while avoiding payouts and holding onto people’s saving match benefits until the following year. The investment community is starting to become awake to this. This is an unhealthy company. And unhealthy RV and his GS based board are incapable of growing and innovating this place. A push for a merger has got to be in the works soon. Or else…..
Gaming Industry Faces Broad Layoff Wave
The gaming sector anticipates widespread staff reductions. Bungie may cut up to 400 employees due to project issues and investor pressure. Quantic Dream also faces potential cuts of around 115 staff after publishing failures. Reports suggest id Software, Bethesda, and BioWare are also at risk. High development costs and project portfolio reviews contribute to industry instability.

UAT layoffs
Can someone confirm if the entire UAT team sacked ?
“ American Telephone and Telegraph “ 🇺🇸
The only thing “American” about the company is the name, because it sure does seem they wanna replace everyone with foreign H1B temps, offshoring outsourcing and Indian contractors. What a complete joke, just change the name to India telecom already 🇮🇳. As we lose our jobs make sure to DUMP their services
RDA launch
Whats that new Reporting and Data leadership launching on Jun 25th. Are they trying to consolidate all reporting team?
Is this another way to reduce people?
CMO Out?!?
MaryAnne Morin out? DH announced new CMO effective 7/14……..whose next?
Staying? Brace yourselves for premium hikes and more ICHRA expansions.
With the VSP deadlines approaching, it’s obvious headcount is getting slashed. I'm also thinking about how this margin recovery squeeze is going to butcher our 2027 benefits. Any visibility on the 2027 plan designs? Specifically, is the mandatory ICHRA rollout expanding to more states for 2027? They already forced Indiana staff off traditional group plans and onto individual marketplace stipends. Shifting more states to ICHRA seems like the ultimate corporate cost cutting move to completely offload insurance risk onto us. What state is next? More importantly, when will employees be told?
Our employee premiums jump every year while coverage gets gutted. It's the classic Centene irony—working for a healthcare giant with health benefits that are noticeably worse than our peers.
In the past, they took away bonuses and gave us tiny raises that were immediately eaten up by healthcare premium increases. Anyone have eyes on what the out-of-pocket maximums or wellness program changes look like for next year? If they change the plan designs any further, staying through this restructuring might not even be financially worth it.
The Future Workforce Problem
Over 70% of AT&T employees are over 50 years old… Let that sink in.
This company is rapidly approaching a point where a huge percentage of its workforce will be eligible for retirement, taking decades of knowledge and experience with them.
Normally that wouldn’t be a problem. You’d replace them with the next generation of talent.
But that’s the problem.
AT&T has made itself deeply unattractive to many professionals under 40. Five-day RTO. Presence reports. Badge tracking. Relocations. Constant uncertainty. Policies that feel like they’re from 40 years ago, not 2026.
The people leaving aren’t the ones with no options. They’re the ones who do have options. The ones with the skills they want to keep around.
And the people choosing where to start or build their careers are increasingly choosing somewhere else. The applications here have never been lower.
Leadership seems convinced employees are interchangeable. They aren’t.
You can replace a body. You can’t replace experience. You can’t replace institutional knowledge. And you can’t force talented people to join a company they don’t want to work for.
That’s the real risk….
Five years from now, what does this workforce look like if retirements accelerate, experienced employees keep leaving, and younger talent keeps looking elsewhere?
The answer should concern everyone, especially you, Stink!
The solution isn’t complicated… end five-day RTO, ki-l the presence reports, and start making this company a place people actually want to work again.
Because right now we’re not just losing today’s talent, we’re losing tomorrow’s too.
This company is #3 out of the big 3 in telecom with no chance of ever becoming #1 again. Things are headed downhill fast and this company is circling the drain. Time to make a change before it’s too late. Your move, Stinky-Legg and Gerbil Jeffy McSelfish!
Continuous layoffs since January. It's been 5-10 here and there and continues.
Why have these not been reported? The number of layoffs in 2026 alone are staggering but when done a handful at a time it just seems shady.
Layoffs and pips
Back to the subject of this site, what is the current landscape of RAs and pips everyone is currently seeing out there? Including business unit and organization would be helpful in response.
Quiet Layoffs
Liberty has been offshoring and getting rid of entire departments quietly since they announced the “don’t go make a 10 year career plan here” back in Oct of 2023. They have cut the inbound subrogation department in half over the last 7-8 months using PIP plans and forcing a small handful of employees to make lateral moves to other depts. They’ve offshored all jobs cut to India. The company has been trying to keep things quiet with secrets everywhere. The Team Managers have been traveling all over the country for “quality training”. Constantly talking about focusing on quality which is just a smoke screen for putting people on PIPs for weak reasons to get out of paying severance and unemployment. They will cut the inbound subrogation department down to about 25-30 people state side and then might do an outright layoff of them because this whole department is being offshored to India while they try to continue to innovate with their AI. There are constant organizational changes being announced. This company’s “record profits” are coming from the selling off of foreign assets and not because of their premiums. There have been talks about customers being charged in full for policy period premiums and then having their policies cancelled a week or two later with no refunds given. The company is current being sued for undervaluing auto total loss and home owners claims (which they have been). They made changes to metrics at the start of the year to make them harder to meet when inventory is low, because they’re setting everyone up for failure. This company is going to lose insane amounts of money on those total loss and home owners laws suits. Why those running the company would risk PIP’ing so many employees, when they’re already involved in all these other lawsuits and can’t take the blow back or bad PR from those, let alone from the mess they’re making out of downsizing/offshoring jobs is definitely a unique choice to make. Will anyone really be surprised if there is another lawsuit soon from all the Swiss Cheese PIP layoffs? This company is a sinking ship and anyone working there should look for something else.
They can’t even do layoffs properly!
Our leadership is so inept, they can’t even do layoffs properly!
If they did a large round of layoffs, it would make the news and they would get a temporary boost to the stock price. They could then reassure the remaining workforce that they’re done with layoffs for at least a year so everyone can focus on their work.
These seemingly random mini layoffs will hurt productivity bigly. They may be doing to avoid filing WARN but it’s still a bad strategy.
Pushing out Behavior Health License holders?
I've heard there are some teams and people with various BH licenses not being allowed to make calls and do their role "while they look into it". Supposedly someone noticed something and now they are questioning if they are even allowed to make the outreaches. The timing is fishy. Anyone else heard this or having the experience? I don't feel secure in my role at all.
Get a new job if you’re upset about RTO
Here’s the thing, Fidelity pays a lot lower than competitors. It’s just a fact of the matter. I worked at Fidelity a year ago in WM and as soon as they started the whole RTO thing I did everything in my power to not abide. Leaving early, looking for new jobs on the clock, exceptions etc. believe it or not but if you are licensed that truly does open more doors even in this environment. A lot of the competitors are happy to take us with a nice pay raise

Head of HR
Has anyone had any dealings with the senior head of HR? My understanding is he is the one pushing RIFS, and a reason behind this increasingly toxic place. He wants RIFS everywhere but has the most toxic people leading HR teams.
