Any guess how the 20K layoffs be spread in 2026?

20,000 is really massive number to RIF

If 1K were riffed in January
and we don’t know how many were laid off in February (say 2000?).

Still have around 17K to be riffed beginning March 4. How is this number gonna be spread? 2K a month until December? Anxiety-inducing and demoralizing for employees!

Any guess/speculation?

Something strange happened!

How many of you are able to relate to this from a now former XX

Sounding off

Officially reached my breaking point after my performance review.

Context: S&T L10, 4/5 on my performance review, and only a 0.6% raise but “the company is so excited for my growth this year!!!”

I know the situation here and have treated it as a transactional relationship. But for me to bust my a$$, deliver above my expectations, and get a fraction of a percent raise?

They’ve officially lost me, quiet quitting begins now. This company and its “leaders”
incompetence combined with Indian nepotism culture has ruined the employee experience.

I feel disrespected beyond belief, fu-k this place

CREB

Have a couple of friends in CREB, and it sounds terrible over there. One was telling of an opening whereby the workload would quadruple from her current load, with no pay raise whatsoever if she took the job. Also heard today of a very senior leader leaving and his role is not being replaced, but instead his duties will roll up to his manager going forward, who lives on the other side of the country. Sounds like morale is in the toilet as well within that group because of workload with continued reductions in total compensation. They all agreed that nobody is happy and basically everyone is looking to leave when they get the chance. Ouch.

Designer CEO

Turned all the way off when I see our ceo dripping in designer labels, meanwhile half of us don’t get a raise… the two piece Chanel suit for 15k, the Gucci sweater on Instagram. Does she think we are stupid or does she just not care? Either way I can’t respect someone who displays such a lack of care and respect for the worker bees just trying to make ends meet.

New Comp (Ripoff) Plan

Dell has changed, they are no longer the company we once knew and loved.

When a system shifts risk to employees, the experience changes and the job starts to su-k more.

Stress becomes structural, not situational

The math starts working against the us

Even big wins can feel diluted

Over time, effort and reward drift apart, and trust in the model breaks down.

Great sales organizations create environments where performance, ownership, and outcomes stay aligned. When that alignment exists, people do their best work.

We have to ask ourselves, are we doing our best work or just trying to survive a broken system?

Why care?

Bank needs happy employees to build profit. Why care about producing quality work? They dont care about us. Missed risk? Oh well. Unhappy customers? Oh well. Lost accounts? Oh well. Because guess what? U stripped us of dignity and respect and comp. What's left to care about? We will just buy our time until they eventually cut all of us. Let em think their highly bloated team of managers and leaders will carry them to victory and profits.

Grade 26 and below - the frustration

I work in optum insight. I was moved to new team due to a restructure last year.
3 other people on the team have a job title that is 1 above, so they are eligible for bonus and I am not, along with 2 others.
This means we all work very similar roles, with now more pressure due to layoffs, and I get a 1.5% raise and no RRP due to my level, while they get 5k or more bonuses plus possible merit and a bigger base salary.

Why would I ever work hard when 3 other people are getting bonuses while me and others are not? For almost identical work. It would be different if they did a different job, but with the restructuring, our jobs are basically the same now with the same goals and metrics.
I am at the point of being extremely bitter.
Someone make this make sense at all.

DXC Wins and Success - why?

I keep receiving these emails about great results, another wins, another successes, so much money from so many contracts, but SO WHAT? There is nothing in it for me, and if the company is in such a great condition, why it cannot match the salaries to modern rates? I do not know what is the purpose of these emails. Honestly, every time I see these, I feel like someone just spat in my face, laughed and walked away.

No one is ready to work

People are just maintaining status quo. No one willing to contribute out of box in fear of No recognition, No salary hikes or promotions.

  1. Skilled people were exploited until they stopped innovating. No one is motivated to contribute extra.
  2. Management is begging Developers and leaders to bring change with AI , hackathons, and study more on AI concepts. Even if I learn AI, why should I contribute if no recognition ? I will use my learning to jump for more salary.
  3. Oracle is the low payer , even less than Asian service / body shopping companies.
  4. Lots of bureaucracy in Oracle.
Throw out all Directors, Senior Directors and VP's who doesn't add value and improve salary structure for real working employees. Things might change.

I'm beginning to think I only imagined this place was once better

Fifteen-plus years here, and things have been sliding downhill for so long that I now doubt even those first couple of years. How did we hit such lows so fast? Workers have never been treated as more disposable and worthless than they are now. It feels like we're approaching the moment when the whole thing spectacularly collapses. And what a disappointing, sad career arc - a steady decline, likely ending in a layoff where your years of contribution are never even acknowledged.

The comparison…

… between the weekend of Bandy 🤡, CB chuck, our CMO, our sales-operations-but-don’t-know-anything-head and the other EC members. Counting their money. Putting the future of the company and any thought about employees at the back of their mind. Making up a new talk-track about how everything is working, failing at every ethical measure they can, showing the world their lack of moral compass or fibre

….. and the employees who have been let-down, disrespected, kept in the dark, miscommunicated to, not sure what happens next, constant feels of dread, or knowing in that this week is the last week here, or spending precious family time looking for a new role as the Kool Aid has been drunk and people seem to think Lexmark will save us. Xerox will go bankrupt because of Lex acquisition - Xerox has been around for 100+ years but add Lexmark and the down projection accelerates.

Performance Rating BS

Leader here. Let me say this loud enough for everyone to hear:

Your performance ranking is not impacted by your performance.

Read that again!!

You are stack ranked with your peers. Leaders are allotted a certain number of 4s and 5s per team. Everyone else is given 3 unless you are on a CAP or PIP.

The only time someone is given more 4s or 5s is if there’s extra 4s and 5s available rolling up under your leader; AKA a higher team than yours su-ks and they don’t have enough to fill the spots. They are then passed to whichever team has the biggest brown nosing leader.

Do not go above and beyond because it doesn’t matter. End of the day, unless you are teachers pet, you’re not getting higher than a 3.

Decades of experience with this company and the only reason I stay is because I can’t find anything else comparable in wage. I have been forced to give exemplary employees a 3 due to not being allotted enough.

Remember when they used to actually tell us the truth?

I sat in a meeting with a manager where they literally told us no layoffs coming. Not two weeks later, people were getting cut. What is even the point of these meetings anymore? The whole culture is just fear now. You can't trust a word that comes out of their mouths.

Life at Solventum vs 3M

As an ex HCB sales person who got "stuck" at 3M I still follow all my old European colleagues on Linkedin. Life looks amazing at Solventum! It's seems like unlimited travel and many chances to get together and meet in person at amazing high end conferences. At 3M we can't go anywhere . But then I come on here and it's all doom and gloom , seems like the two things be true so which one is it ???

10+ hour days and it's still not enough to get through the workload

Management talks to us like we're machines, not people. The pay doesn't come close to matching what peers make elsewhere. Add in the constant pressure and zero respect, and it's getting harder to remember why I stay. The only thing keeping me going is the team, but even that's starting to fray.

Seven years here and the place feels completely different now

Stack ranking has everyone watching their backs instead of helping each other. A buddy was laid off six months ago and still can't land anything, so I'm terrified to leave. The only bright spot is the friends I've made across different teams. The rest of it is just showing up and wondering if today's the day they cut my access.

The workforce tension and the desperation of management is palpable, and the first cracks are starting to appear.

Lifted this from another comment on this site. It gets to the heart of the matter bigly. Sad but true that this is happening to this once great company before our eyes.

It's the only AI software that Chevron has. I am guessing that the LT is planning on celebrating this tool as a means of leveraging AI to cut operational costs. The entirety of AI within CVX has been oversold to the board and the executive team. They have been pumping money into the "dream" software for years and the BoD wants to see results. The money saved over cutting headcount from eavesdropping on emails and text messages will never match the promised returns of AI sold to the board. There is a critical OC gap with regards to AI and the datasets are a mess. It will take years to harvest energy production related returns from AI within Chevron. MW is on the $32M hook to show costs cuts has cut critical headcounts and is now recreating a low cost workforce in India and eliminating the costly US workforce in an attempt to realize the savings that AI might have provided. This is a one-to-two-year trick pony because it's not a sustainable YoY strategy. Once the sham starts falls apart in a year or two, MW (who is already cashing out) will depart. In the meantime, Chevron will lose more talented people since it is fairly evident there is no long-term career to be had here. This is a prime example of how short-sighted corporate leadership with a shallow technological understanding can destroy a once great company. The workforce tension and the desperation of management is palpable, and the first cracks are starting to appear.

DreadGrid.com

Found this site where you can anonymously rate your job on two axes. One is how hard the work actually is and the other is how bad the people are to deal with. They call it Pain Level and A--hole Coefficient which honestly tracks.
Would be interesting to see where Google lands right now given everything going on.

Nike Culture is Dead

Bad leadership. Too many leaders do not understand the brand or the mission. They do not care deeply about sport or sneakers. They care about titles and power. They focus on themselves, not the company.

We promoted the wrong people. Then they promoted their friends and loyalists. Now it is people in power protecting each other instead of building the business. When the top is weak, everything below it crumbles.

EH has not reset the organization. The leaders under EH avoid hard decisions. There is a lot of head nodding and very little action. They wait for direction instead of leading. They are not building the future. They are not leaders.

Talent is leaving or has left. The people who care the most get frustrated and walk away. Strong voices are pushed out. The people who stay are comfortable, not outstanding.

There is zero accountability. When we fail at something, there is always an excuse. Market conditions. Timing. Someone else’s decision. No one clearly owns the failure. If no one owns it, nothing changes.

There is no unity. Teams protect their own goals instead of fighting for one mission. The culture is political and siloed. We do not act like one company.

This is the norm now. This is the new Nike culture.
