Heard around 20+ dispatchers laid off last week. Positions moved to a vendor in India.
The leadership of the outpatient UM team needs a rehaul. They don’t know the operations or business well enough to be in those positions and it’s like a high school clique. No room for feedback and snotty bullying like a bunch of mean girls. I’m surprised with all the changes they haven’t used this as an opportunity to get some talent in there.
JPM has a management contingency in BA this week and next for training staff that was just hired. JPM will use BA as its 2nd operational site behind India. Job cuts will be in the US starting as early as mid May early June
QVC has filed for bankruptcy. The company promises business as usual. This applies to its Northeast Tennessee center. Operations there will continue normally. No immediate changes are expected at the facility.

So Elcio today said a minimum of 8 hours a day in office in order for it to count as being in office, no exceptions.
But also today, the guy in charge of Operations, we over 2000 people on a call said it is understandable if you have to work 6 hours in office and make up the other 2 hours at home, we understand people have life priority and can’t expect everyone to stand and watch the count to be in at exactly 8 hours a day to count as in office when you have an emergency or have to pick up kids or elderly parents.
So many mixed messages.
I asked my manager is it 4 hours a day, 6 hours, or 8 hours minimum in office and he said he doesn’t know what counts, he has never been told. And he said he doesn’t care as long as I do my work since I sit by myself and the rest of the team is in OH, AZ, and MN.
So what is minimum?
I heard the Command Center and Help Desk departments were recently outsourced before the New Year? And now from seeing this site, it seems that a lot of departments are being slashed? Wow. How is this affecting the day to day operations with the app support and daily prod processing that was always deemed critical?

Prediction is Citi is going to be at <100k employees within 5 years or so. The market will simply demand it. You are delusional if you are in the middle/early part of your career thinking long term at Citi. People in the revenue generating side of things in the business will have a much longer off ramp. However, if you are in operations/ technology/ risk and controls etc then you are being very complacent not actively having a back up plan. We Visited a New Target Store - Old Problems Persist

During the store’s soft launch, shoppers were invited in nearly a week before the official grand opening. The event drew a larger-than-expected crowd through word of mouth, suggesting that Target still generates strong interest, even if its dominance in suburban areas has weakened over time.
At first glance, the store delivered a positive experience. It was well stocked, employees were friendly, and it included upgraded features such as an in-store optical center. However, a noticeable issue quickly emerged: a line forming at the returns desk.
The problem stemmed from a pricing error tied to Target’s Circle Deal Days promotion, which coincided with seasonal sales from Amazon and Walmart. Some promotions were valid for only a single day, but signage for a children’s clothing discount scheduled for Thursday was mistakenly displayed on Wednesday. Many customers overlooked the small-print date and expected the discount to apply immediately.
As a result, several shoppers approached customer service seeking price adjustments after the discounts failed to appear at checkout. Once informed of the error, many opted to return their purchases. Some reacted with humor, while others were clearly frustrated.
Target emphasized that improving the in-store experience remains a central priority. The company stated it is investing in staff, store operations, and technology to enhance customer satisfaction, and noted that the New Jersey location is one of approximately 30 new stores planned for this year.
Despite these efforts, broader performance tells a more complicated story. Target shares have risen about 18% so far this year, but they still lag behind competitors and the broader market over a longer period. The stock remains significantly below its peak following the pandemic-era surge in 2021.
In addition to financial pressures, Target continues to face criticism from across the political spectrum, as well as ongoing complaints about store conditions. Shoppers have cited issues such as disorganized aisles, inconsistent inventory, and frequently locked merchandise.
Even in a brand-new store, these familiar problems remain evident. While the brand retains some customer loyalty, the overall shopping experience can still fall short of expectations.
In short, the new location reflects a broader reality: despite efforts to improve, Target is still working to overcome longstanding operational challenges.
Lila Kate Trucking LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Friday. The Roanoke, Alabama-based carrier seeks to reorganize under Subchapter V. The company estimated assets and liabilities between $1 million and $10 million. Management stated operations will continue during the restructuring process. The bankruptcy court issued a notice of several filing deficiencies.

Plans are in the works to decimate all disciplines within Operations. We will see if upper management goes through with it. Some cuts are inevitable, but the new plan seems a bit of overkill. Regardless, a bumpy ride is forecast.

Which departments? Which lines of business? Clinical or nonclincial? Operations, legal, HR, clinics?
If they are bringing back night crew AKA freight flow 100% . With more people and a manager where does that leave AM crew?
So after the multi phased layoff, re-orgs, I have a MD 3 layers up that does not understand the tech they are over. No shocker there, but they are making decisions that more than hamper operations. I can’t be specific naturally but let’s just say they are out of their depth.
It’s like “so you need nails to build a house, are you sure you can’t cut back on the number of nails used? or let’s try using half the nails, how about that?. If you aren’t sure if the structure can remain standing, then just build half of the house.”
That’s as close to an example I can give without jeopardizing my employment but you can see how odd and reckless this is. Now imagine trying to explain the folly of using half of the nails and\or building only half of the house and they just don’t get it.
What’s going on up in the north east?
Hearing that Chicago could be a hub. Anyone have any first hand info on it? Also is St.Louis still operational or completely gutted? I still see some folks there
Once certian projects are finished they will lay off the rest of that department and let L T I take over. Congrulations on working yourself out of a job. HR will mostly be replaced by a computer. Get used to talking to a machine.
Middle management will be gutted.
They won't be needed since LTI has their own management in place. Projects will be downsized further and support groups dismantled and/or gone. Operations you aren't safe. They are looking at you. Anyone who is of retirement age will be next. If you have several complaints in your file you will also be gone. There won't be anyone left at cpchem except for a few in corporate.

When can we start outsourcing the mgmt of projects away from GP? Our LNG projects are a disaster and the VP is definitely part of the problem. Just like the VP (JP) several years ago.
What’s your thoughts? It’s hard enough to operate week to week with limited payroll, fixed activities, conference calls, the micromanaging and now we have CAC walks next week. I’m curious to see how thorough these walks actually are and what the overall company percentage of passing stores is.
Big layoff coming to the USA with high PIP targets and low PIP passing rates. OPERATIONS ROLES WILL BE HIT HARD but no groups will be spared. Time to look for next role and have a plan B
Seems for operations, they have to wait for the on site audits to complete and March membership numbers/projections since the end of the subsidies. They can’t show to regulators they are riffing people when we don’t meet TAT

A email was sent regarding a meeting that is supposedly coming up with the new Operations Senior Director. Per the email, the new Operations Senior Director wants to get “acquainted with our business”. Any ideas of on what this could mean? No date has been set for the meeting yet, just an email saying it will be soon.
Operations generally strive to perform well so the company will see the value they bring and not put them up for sale.
Kaparuk uses the strategy of performing poorly and constantly whining and complaining so no one will buy them and ConocoPhillips is stuck with this group of industry rejects

A large tire manufacturer is ceasing operations. The company's facility in Barnesville will close. Its manufacturing activities are coming to an end. This closure affects a significant tire producer. The Barnesville site will no longer be operational.

I grew up in Midland and worked for Pioneer. I am watching with alarm as jobs are being shifted to Houston, Argentina, and India. It looks like the only jobs that will be left in Midland are operations. I am an engineer. Pioneer offered career growth and I could stay in Midland. Looks like that option is dead. Time to jump to a competitor and hope someone doesn’t buy them and do the same thing.
