VZ is a (tele)Communications company?!

So hour by hour every publication is using the '15 to 20k layoffs' headlines to get to whatever sl--t they have, and all of the quotes and bullets are the same for all of the articles. And VZ officially has no comment. And this site and Reddit and everywhere else threads their hearts out with rumor/speculation/furvor. And VZ, the communications company with the new 'Tell it like it is' CEO, and a credo of integrity and respect, just allows rumor, speculation, and uncertainty take a deep soak while November 20 gets closer on the calendar. This isn't some scramble with no direction; Big Brother is controlling the communication even if it LOOKS chaotic. Chaos is a strategy.

Even more cuts?

There has been talk about even more cuts coming early next year, but nobody seems to know if it is real. People keep trading bits of speculation and it puts everyone on edge. I am keeping my head down and waiting to see what leadership says. It is tough concentrating on work with that hanging over us.

It's just bunch of rumors at this point...

Nobody knows anything. I'm not saying layoffs aren't happening but seems to me nobody has solid proof of what's actually happening on the 20th, if anything at all.

All these news articles are saying same thing word for word and it's all taken straight from this website. They have no reliable source.

We need transparency

This whole process was never going to be easy, but it could’ve been so much better if leadership had been upfront from the start. Instead, we’re left to guess and speculate because no one at the top wants to say anything concrete. A little honesty and communication would make a world of difference right now.

What Bob's building?

Inherited environment, culture of stress, anxiety, uncertainty from Roger, added his own flavor of further uncertainty among associates.

When BME was announced, Rich was dead clear in sharing "everyone's going to be part of this model"

Since he didn't see eye to eye with Bob, he's on his way out the door now.

With the retiring of "squads, scrum masters, chapters", we will definitely see some BS made up titles with same responsibilities.

Why does Fido want to ruin the holiday season for all?

More layoffs?

Of course it’s a rumor but…. Has anyone else heard of layoffs coming to the default world (Collections, Recovery, operations)? I have always had good connections here but I am relatively new. curious if someone else can validate what I heard. From what I heard there were going to be changes in Q1 2026 on top of what is happening now.

There's a LOT of stuff suddenly on pause, in MANY departments.

Necessary follow-up emails are even being halted. Critical meetings - on hold. I've talked to several friends across the company, various departments and the sentiment is the same - uncertainty and "waiting to hear if we have jobs."

It's not healthy and makes me wonder Dan's long term "culture" strategy that he claims is a priority, when the short term has gone south so quickly.

I genuinely thought the environment couldn't get worse than what H created, but it def has, in a quick way :-/

So remote folks shouldn’t expect anything definitive until the dust settles?

I’ve heard so many different versions, and it’s honestly confusing. From what I can tell, there’s still nothing final. Unfortunately, it sounds like the uncertainty for remotes will drag on a bit longer, especially for those who don’t neatly fit into the LA or NYC setups. Do we know if we could still get caught in this round, or are we considered a separate case altogether?
