Auditor for coding pay. Layoffs?
I’m in coding and there is a coding auditor role open that I’m applying for. Can anyone share their pay amount if they are in this role. I am a coder for family practice at 36.53 (75k). I saw some posts about recent layoffs so not sure if that’s why... — read more
Anyone know if layoffs are still happening on the 18th, or was today it?
I know several were let go today, but the date we have all heard has been December 18th. Anyone know if more is to come on Thursday?
Interesting recommendation
In an email manager recommended to take PTO, CEUs, equipment reimbursement, etc. early in the year (2026). More worries.
Any others affected today besides auditors?
I’m so sorry for everyone impacted, especially with this happening just days before Christmas. Try not to let it get to you. It will all work out in the end. You’ll likely look back and be glad you left this place behind.

When Work Feels Busy but Meaningless
Optum/UHC jobs exist less to create real value and more to sustain systems, hierarchies, and the appearance of productivity. People often sense—quietly and uncomfortably—that their work doesn’t truly help customers or society, even while it consumes... — read more
Are there any severance changes on the horizon?
I’m curious if Optum will adjust severance again soon and if there’s any way to know that? Those updates sometimes come out of nowhere, but they’re too big a deal to just learn about them when the actual layoffs happen.
December 18
Good luck to everyone at WellMed who’s hoping that the axe doesn’t fall on them this week. Thought I’d raise the Festivis pole for an airing of the grievances or a place to drop the dread we’re all feeling!
If you are young person, you need to look externally
Older folks can try to ride it out. But if you are younger person you need to look externally for opportunities. Going from 4.5 to 3.5 % is a ~23% cut on 401k match, plus any lost compound interest. Also factor in medical premium increases for... — read more
Interesting to Note

People are just walking away now
