In Tampa or NY it feels like entire teams are dominated by one group, and Indian managers/directors mainly hire and promote people from their own circle. It creates a closed-door environment where others don’t feel they have a fair chance. It’s... — read more
Promotions at Citi
I’m very confused to what HR has to do with a promotion process. If you get nominated for a promotion and it gets approved by all required people in your LOB- how is HR going to disapprove it or say “no this person can’t get promoted due to x,y,z. “... — read more

Rumors about raises freezing
People are talking about this but I highly doubt there's any truth to it. Can anybody confirm something like this is in the works?
Citi Tampa
In Tampa, It is wild how managers suddenly disappear right before review time. They ghost you for weeks, then magically reappear with some cooked-up rating. This place doesn’t have a performance problem — it has a leadership problem. Especially with... — read more

Tampa tech ECDO/CDO layoffs
Rumor is reviews for the data governance tech reviews are being done by HR, not managers, and are going to be used as a framework for RIFS so offshoring can be accelerated.
True or not?
RIFs have been taking place since the first week of Sept. Get with it. Have there really been constant layoffs for the past few months? I haven't heard of anybody being cut since much earlier in the year. Yes, a lot of people are mentioning layoffs... — read more
If there’s any layoffs to be had, start with HR.
Those jokers just loved to deliver the matter of factly snarky message of “this is what’s best for Citi, we have to let you go” with such a smug look on their face. It’s time to replace those guys with AI. If there’s any test bed low hanging fruit... — read more

Tampa will require 3 days a week in office
An email came out today stating that all Tampa employees will now require to go to the office 3 days per week (instead of 2 days) starting on January 20, 2026. I guess they want more people to leave on their own.
Impact of Verizon layoffs
With Verizon laying off, what is the impact it has on Citi technology, Irving?
Joining Citi was a mistake
Work life balance left the building the day I accepted this role. Meetings bleed into evenings and weekends, and by Monday I’m already exhausted. If anyone has tips on reclaiming time, I’m all ears.
The future or futureless?
Layoff’s are one of the main tools to boost a companies stock price. Now that we are doing that with some more room to go, the price has risen 48% YTD. Again, there’ll be another round or two of layoffs of that I’m sure. So the question is... — read more

Citi CFO Mark Mason to step down

Citi should not block someone to move out when a 4 rating is intentional.

Heard there have to be 4s on the team. This might be the new strategy to get rid of some serious headcount without any severances. Track your work and have enough evidence to contest the 4s. If they want you out they want you out.
USPB Dismantling

Did CTO announce layoffs are coming in today's all hands meeting?
In today's all hands meeting, the CTO pretty much said Citi will follow the lines of Amazon and Meta and will be laying off people. He didn't say specific numbers and exactly when but the message to me sounds like there will be layoffs coming.
