Did anyone hear of layoffs in Optum for tomorrow 2/26? Just had a 15 min meeting invite added to my calendar for tomorrow morning.

Anyone have any insight to the fate of those that started at landmark, then HBMC and now Optum at Home (OAH)? SO much has been cut, not much left..has the feeling that everyone will be RIFd by EOY..any intel??

20,000 is really massive number to RIF

If 1K were riffed in January
and we don’t know how many were laid off in February (say 2000?).

Still have around 17K to be riffed beginning March 4. How is this number gonna be spread? 2K a month until December? Anxiety-inducing and demoralizing for employees!

Has anyone else been hearing about the upcoming RIFs in Parametric Test?

1. If you haven't submitted claims against all the flex dollars, deducted from your paycheck, by your termination date, are the unused deducted dollars refunded to you? (Conversely, if you were reimbursed for more than was yet deducted from your paycheck, do you have to pay it back?)

2. When you're reimbursed for unused accrued vacation days in your final paycheck, does that include unused carryover days? If you were RIF'd in 1Q, it's quite possible you didn't use all carryover days yet. If you were RIF'd in NY in 1Q, your termination date is in 2Q. Workday drops carryover days after March 31. Your Workday balance as of the 2Q termination date does not reflect unused carryover days. If HR uses Workday to determine unused accrued vacation days as of termination date (or, if you meet rule of 60, as of December 31), then HR won't see the carryover balance.

For those impacted by this round of RIFs- what was your severance package offer? And when does your insurance benefits end?

This Thursday is the end of a pay cycle that will get folks off the books before the end of the quarter. What do you think? End of month RIF or April fools?

It appears RIFs started in HC today, 2/19. I do not believe anyone was affected or at least reported anything during January. Likely just the beginning of markets’ adjustment. Please share any info as it unfolds.

Got RIF'd, 60 day garden leave, standard 2 weeks for every year, blah blah blah. I have (former lol) coworkers calling me asking me where I am, asking if I can help with X or Y when I'm "back from vacation." Seems like management isn't telling their teams anything about the sudden voids in the roster.

I've learned the old pattern of doing layoff's on Thursdays is being modified this year. They'll be doing them on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for the foreseeable future. There were folks let go yesterday and there was one today in Optum Health and HR, tomorrow is OT's day of reckoning.

I was wondering if there are people in Spain who requested Early Retirement but instead ended up on the RIF/ERE list and simply getting the RIF/ERE Package instead of the Early Retirement package. I think Oracle abuses the fact that people conform the Early retirement program and are getting fired with a much lower payment.

It seems apparent there will be a RIF this week on 2/19. Just curious if anyone has any insights in to the business segments and scale. I’ve read Housecalls, Wellmed, and others. Is that mainly optum health?

It's pretty much certain that RIFs will happen this week. As someone impacted by a recent RIF, here is what I can share. What's done is done already. Regardless of what you colleagues or business partners think of you, your manager has already decided that you are gone. Brush off that resume. Research competitors who may value your skills. Apply to positions where your skills fit and/or where you want to go in your career. If you get an interview, even for a position you don't really want, don't turn it down. Some of the best advice I got was from an old manager who had recently separated from the military who told me how he had been applying to positions he knew he couldn't accept because he still had a year left but he wanted the interview experience and hadn't interviewed anywhere in almost 20 years. When the time came, he was a pro and landed a job in his first interview after his military retirement. Optum isn't the military and you can leave whenever you want. If that amazing offer comes before severance, don't hesitate to take it. Best case, you line up both at the same time and walk away with a nice bonus that you earned for all the stress and BS this place has put you through. Good luck to everyone. It will all be okay.
