I heard the UK lost a lot of staff in Q2 but have any other European countries been affected ? Some Euro colleagues I spoke with said things were on hold due to the BT merger.

Has anyone who was laid off from Citi and received a redundancy/severance package later rejoined the company?
Has anyone who was laid off from Citi and received a redundancy/severance package later rejoined the company?
I’m trying to understand whether there is a formal waiting period before someone can be rehired, particularly where the exit package included severance pay, payment in lieu of notice, or other redundancy compensation.
Does the restriction vary depending on whether the person returns as a permanent employee, contractor, or consultant? Also, is the waiting period counted from the last working day, the official termination date, or the end of the PILON period?
Any recent experience from the UK or EMEA would be helpful.
UK, Ireland, Canada
In the All Hands yesterday Niraj confirmed expansion of physical stores to the UK. They're actively seeking out their first location.
He also stated that they are committed to UK, Ireland and Canada with a strengthening market share in those regions.
Obviously there are no guarantees in business but it was a nice rebuke of that "Something Big Brewing" poster on 15th June.
Mood is incredibly low
Many from my UK team have been silently let go, and the remaining are looking to jump ship.

Just wondering if a date is known?
Something big brewing
I am hearing, atleast from few different levels that they are planning to do mass layoff in Ireland and maybe UK, and eventually exit UK like Germany..not rumors but actual talks. Can't share where and who coz i might get into trouble.
I mean I'm already seeing signs for UK, decreasing headcount each year, only bit up due to German relocation, not much profit and announcements of Canada physical store plans and aggressive US stores plans- they would need money and UK might be bleeding more money and resources.
I would be very proactive to look for jobs given perfect storm brewing.
Are UK plants to close
think there are three plants in the UK , hearing very strong rumours they are to close by end of 2027, Skelmersdale and Ayecliffe, also Bangor Ireland which is struggling

If it's true there will be a round next week.
Global Broadcast Cancellation
UKI Just got a message through that Global have cancelled monday's town hall watch-along. I'm assuming that's because they've cancelled the town hall itself- it'll be interesting to find out what's going on there.

Anyone recently gone/currently going through redundancy in the UK?
If you've had your consultation meet was the pay offer statutory, VZ typical enhanced (month a year up to 6 months) or somewhere in between?

Canon Middle East, Central & North Africa, UK & South Africa Layoffs
Canon Middle East, Central & North Africa, the UK, and South Africa are facing massive layoffs. After 13 years with the company, this is something I have never seen before. The new HQ leadership is pushing for maximum profit, and the result is a wave of layoffs across multiple regions.

No news in the UK
There has been nothing about layoffs in the UK yet, and I have heard nothing on the grapevine about anything in EMEA. It has NOT started.
Don't get me wrong, I want it to start, and I want to be on the list. Happy to take some cash and run.
I'm sure the storm is coming, but it is not here yet.
Any new business in the UK?
Was fortunate to get VR last year after 10 years of no pay rises and broken promises. The annual drudge of appraisals, getting feedback, self evaluation etc was mind numbing, knowing nothing would ever come out of it. My manager was worse than useless. A total waste of time who blagged and lied his way year after year. I know why people stay as it’s a cushy number and no one cares. Projects drag on and it’s amazing how clients put up with the incompetence. I’m just interested to know what actual accounts are still going in the UK. Not much on here is posted but in the last few town halls I attended there was always a ‘positive pipeline’ so just curious as to what current employees are actually working on - or more pertinent what codes are you booking time to for doing next to nothing? My last account was Defra which died a slow and painful death!
VzB existing Europe
Just heard the Netherlands just got rif on Friday.. NL was one of their majors hubs; apart from Uk..
UK
Someone posted this in a different thread, it's worth exposing it here on the main page:
- In the UK it's a legal requirement to make roles redundant, not people. However there are no formal job roles assigned, and having access immediately revoked and being escorted from the building is not commensurate with a "consultation". This is not legal, but just like the lack of WARN notices, they keep doing it.
RTO in European offices
Checking in on the global RTO rollout: I’d love to hear from colleagues in the UK and EU offices. Has your local leadership confirmed a specific Phase 2 start date yet or are local labor regulations still being navigated? It would be great to compare notes on how the transition is being handled outside the US hubs.
5 let go in SW in UK today

Salaries by grade in the UK
Could some people post examples of what they’re paid and their grade. I know there’s a big discrepancy and cross over for each grade but would be curious to know as I’ve joined the company recently and want to know if I got low balled.
