Work from home will save time and be more productive!

Associates being able to collaborate across time zones and optimize their productivity with flexible hours is especially relevant for global organizations.

Work-from-home can indeed reduce commute time, improve work-life balance, and potentially increase efficiency—provided the right communication and collaboration tools are in place.

Connect Week Policy?

Most of my connect weeks, I rarely stay the whole day... I usually do half days and then leave when the office clears out. I work 12pm-11pm est and think it's ludicrous to be sitting on a floor with one other guy at 9pm lol.

I was just told by a friend at my office that his manager told his team you're not required to be in office if you work this shift, because half of the shift is when the office is technically closed. He said it's an actual policy but it's hush hush. Has anyone heard of anything like this? He has rarely gone into the office and has never heard anything of it. I have also never heard anything for usually leaving around 6-7pm est... knock on wood.

My manager is also very lax about the office requirement and just says to do what you can lol.

How has Cisco damaged your health

I lost all my gains from working out and became fat working day and night for this company. Now I don’t even complete my tasks and management is micro managing me/constantly asking me to present things about AI to the team. I don’t hang out with friends as much and have very little time to date/do activities.

I’m only 2 years out of college and know getting fired/PIP will likely force me out of tech forever and into low-skill no degree required work but that is concerning me less every day.

Quiet quit

That’s what I plan to do from now on. I’ll give back exactly what I’m given in return. They’ve shown us how little they think of us, so why should I bother giving it my all anymore? My best effort will be reserved for my next company, hopefully one that treats its employees better.

RTO is Ending everywhere but here

RTO is coming to an end. Productivity is down, morale is worse than ever, and people are leaving in waves for companies that offer flexibility. The younger workforce doesn’t want to live in traffic five days a week, and the veterans are burned out.

Every major study shows hybrid work drives better results, retention, and satisfaction. Forcing everyone back has done the opposite. Billions are being wasted on office space instead of innovation, debt reduction, or employee development.

RTO didn’t build culture or collaboration. It built resentment and distrust. The future of work is flexible, and every company that matters knows it. It’s time AT&T caught up.

My Friday Schedule

I pull into the parking lot and finish my cup of coffee and the news.
I grab two very strong THC gummies and eat them.
I veg out at work all day. I log in to meeting after meeting where leadership and contractors or offshore employees repeat themselves, repeat their questions, and once again ask me to repeat my detailed instructions to the, I smile like i’m stoned but nobody knows. I am in a low iq twilight zone. After my meetings I get started on real work and am constantly interrupted by more low iq employees or new ones that had no business being hired. I enjoy two more THC gummies and smile my way to 4 and skate out the door. I enjoy RTO, i really do.

Town Hall Question

Previously our department was allowed to attend Town Halls or watch recording at a later date, we were not required to work while attending or watching. It appears now we are to continue working while we attend or watch.

Interested what other departments do, are you allowed to watch or attend while not working or is the expectation to work while attending?

Another whinny post

Perhaps, I'm emotionally immature or just not used to toxic work culture.

Fido manager seem to dump last min work items on you and react in a way they own you.

And worse part, they let someone who fricking can't even understand anything remotely technical to present your hard work.

In what way is this healthy??? They make you do all the dirty work while someone less deserving steals all the credit with no appreciation for your slogging.

Remember how every year we were always…

Ranked in the top 5 of employers in all the major magazines? That sh-t was all over circuit…posters…guess they aren’t publishing those numbers any more. Andy is rolling in his grave. Took a little time, but I found something in two months, better pay, normal work hours. No more 9pm task forces 7 days a week. 6am factory passdown, that you then go have to repeat in 4 other meetings before noon. Go to work, do my job, and go home. At Intel work-life balance just means If Intel isn’t your entire life, you don’t get to work there.

So fu--ing sad.

How is quiet quitting working out for you?

A bunch of people said a while ago they were no longer giving it their all and have started quiet quitting. I'm curios, how's that working out? How did your manager react, if at all? Have you been put on a PIP or is everything still functioning as usual? This is an honest question. I'd love to do the same thing, but I'm too scared of losing my job.

Grass could be Greener

As an employee of this bank for 10+ years, I had zero interest in looking for a new role at this point in my career but the pettiness here is just so astounding, I just can’t tolerate it anymore. I now have a second interview with a smaller company that treats their employees like humans which is what this company used to be about. I will even have my own desk if hired!!! Can you believe that?? Bottom line is while the grass isn’t always greener and every company has their issues, don’t let complacency stand in the way of perhaps enjoying the remaining years you have.

Learn to say no

If you’re burned out, start saying no and stop feeling guilty about it. Managers here depend on us to keep their jobs alive, not the other way around. Half of them won’t even call you out because they’re terrified of confrontation. Keep saying no long enough, and they’ll finally lay you off with a nice severance attached. Sometimes that’s the only peace you’ll get from this place.

Wells Fargo: the only office job that prohibits picking kids up from school

This new 8-hour presence requirement is wrecking morale on my team. This is worse than what we had 20 years ago.

Need to pick your kids up from school? Forbidden unless you badged in at 6:30 AM.

Need to go to a doctor's appointment? Better not come into the office then or you'll lose your 8 hour average.

Want to come in an extra day this week to briefly support a team event? Not unless you want to get put on a PIP and lose your bonus.

Imagine thinking that hybrid "flexibility" is choosing which three days to sit in traffic.

All this, not because it improves performance, not because it helps clients, but because some crusty old executive can’t stand the thought of people being trusted to work like adults.

John Stanley’s Teams Status

Have you ever checked our hard-working leader’s Teams status. Check it right now. It’s 2:30 PM CT in Dallas yet it shows he has been away for 3 hours.

He is the CEO of a Fortune 50 company. I understand he may have business travel, but you can always login to the WiFi at the airport, plane, hotel, or pretty much wherever you are.

Also, if you ever check his status in the evening around 5 or 6, he always shows last seen 30 min ago, 1 hr ago, or 2 hrs ago.

So he takes long breaks during the day. And doesn’t work a minute past 4 PM. Yet myself and my colleagues are hard pushed clocking in 60+ hours to meet our bullsh-t convergence goal.

Guys, this guy only cares about himself. Only the best lifestyle that is possible for himself, nothing but the worse for his employees.

Once You Get Out of There...You Will Feel Liberated

New job, drink coffee when I want....work from home, when I want.. Big salary bump.
Big benefits bump. Big 401k contribution bump. No dysfunctional coworkers or management to deal with. I actually like my job. Treated with respect and dignity, a professional, not a factory worker....... there is a new life out there.......go get yours. Its waiting for you!....

Upper upper management promoting unhealthy work/life balance

It would be nice to say these things without feeling like you’ll be putting a target on your back. But here we are, so I will just state it here and wondering which upper upper management actually reads it?
There are concerns about how you’re framing discussions around work habits. When you mention waking up in the middle of the night thinking about work, or suggest that employees log in after hours for trainings so we can be the first org to finish it, you send the message that overextending ourselves is encouraged. This contributes to a culture that leads to burnout. Please be more intentional about promoting healthy work-life balance and sustainable productivity.
