Closing down Supsa. Which plant would be next?

Whirlpool has closed following refrigeration factories in recent times

  1. Fort Smith, AK - 2012
  2. Evansville, IN - 2014
  3. Amana, IA - Not closed but significantly watered down from its glory days
  4. Supsa Mexico - Planned closure in 2027

Do you think they might close down Ohio and / or Ramos factory next? The refrigeration business is losing almost a million dollar when Whirlpool opens the door every day.

Open or closed AI models

Not so shocking report from Mistral - if companies use closed AI models then these models from vendors will end up learning the business operations of these companies and make them redundant!

Is SAP using closed or open AI models?

WAIT!! we are using the same consultants as Enron??

I just listened to a podcast about the rise & fall of Enron. Shortly after the company started, they consulted with McKinsey &Co and then hired their consultant into the company who was later convicted for the tangled web of lies, deceit, and fraud the company thrived in and which ruined them.

Didn’t PP reach out to that very company for strategic advice? AND hire on several of them?

I know there has been references in this site to how bad our relationship with McKinsey is, but I never knew why. And, there’s been references to the downfall of this company being used as lessons in business classes, but I thought that was a tad dramatic.

But, now that my eyes are fully open… I think my kids will someday be listening to podcasts about the Rise & Fall of Edward Jones that will sound eerily similar to the one I just heard.

Reddit? Layoffs?

Okay two questions. How many people have been laid off thus far? I feel like we’re all in the dark. Second, what happened to the Reddit page? Did people get found out or something? Just curious why we all never are on there and it only seems to be people asking for references.

RSU Values JG14-17

Does anyone know what the typical value of RSU grants are once you hit JG14 and then 15, 16, and 17? I’ve heard $25k annual grants starting at JG14 but unsure if that’s correct?

Thanks for the insight!

Branch Manager Trainee position

For those who have gone through the Branch Manager Trainee program or had experience seeing someone else go through it, I’d love to hear your thoughts. It seems like a much more structured approach than the old model of hiring Branch Managers and essentially throwing them into the role. Has the trainee program been worth the extra time, or did you feel it delayed getting into your own branch? Was there a job placement as a branch manager after 6 months or longer?

ALSO not Layoff related but need some feedback

Is it normal that your PL calls you while on short term disability from work and asks multiple questions about my health and how I'm coming along and what my thoughts are about coming back to work. I don't like to stir things but the calls and texts I've gotten from my PL while on short term make me feel very uncomfortable.

Store manager not working schedule

I am curious to know how many store managers who don’t work a full schedule. Ours does not work a weekend, any big sale days, or any holidays. They take more PTO than they’re supposed to.How are they getting away with this? Where is the store manager schedule posted so the DVP can see what they are supposed to be working?

The burnout is real

I really don’t know how much longer I can put up with this. Looking but the job market is so bad right now. I can barely bring myself to the door to badge in. I can’t believe I actually used to like working here and felt energized by the work. This place has gotten so bad. Like trying to figure out if I can get some sort of disability claim and try to survive on that level if bad. Anyone have any suggestions on just making through the day?
