I put this in a reply to another thread but thought it was something that might be it's own topic. VSP is not for the benefit of the employee, it's for the benefit of the Company, Board and Shareholders

Something I don't think anyone is considering, and a point that Centene would like to keep quiet is Unemployment benefit requires you to lose your job through "no fault of your own". (check your state) If you resign or take a standard severance package on your own, you generally won't qualify. So if you do take VSP you should plan on making that money go as far as possible since Unemployment is not going to be an option.

All I keep reading is people boasting how they left this place. Well, I want to leave Honeyhell as well but I can't find anybody who's hiring, or at least anybody who's hiring at comparable pay. So please, be kind and share with the rest of us, who's currently hiring? Where are you all going?

WARN was submitted on June 19, and it lists August 21 as the date layoffs will take effect. Not really surprising, as Walmart has been ramping up layoffs lately. I guess we need to face facts and realize that this is the new normal: constant layoffs both on store and corporate levels.

They are a failing company thanks to their own doing. Offshoring to India is going to run it into the ground even more. All they care about is the money they line their pockets with. There has been a steady and steep decline to every company that GP touches- in all realms. Profitability, benefits, work life balance, employee retention and satisfaction, etc.

Why wouldn’t gp cut McKinsey loose at this point? It’s known that consultants throw spaghetti at the wall and hope something sticks. But thus far, nothing has even marginally improved by retaining them.

The people who actually know how things work are either retiring without documenting anything or getting laid off. And leadership thinks it's fine because they have their VPs. The same VPs who don't know the details and don't want input from anyone below them. It's scary to watch the company make such a huge mistake and not care.

The people I thought were untouchable are gone, while others seem to survive every reorganization without a scratch. After a while you start wondering if doing great work matters less than knowing who to keep happy and when to keep your opinions to yourself.

The School District of Palm Beach County is eliminating 76 positions. These affected roles are Media Clerk I and Media Clerk II. Employment for these individuals will conclude on July 31, 2026. Increased compensation costs and declining student enrollment caused these changes. The district aims to re-employ as many affected staff members as possible.

I'm not sure I'll be able to do anything today. I tried sleeping but I'm so nervous and over-stressed that I couldn't. I'm honestly not sure how I'll make it through the day, especially if cuts really do continue. My team was not affected yesterday, so if there's more, chances are we will be.

It was said before and it needs to be repeated. Our management levels are bloated and need to be thinned out. Layoffs are needed, but they keep targeting the wrong people. Focus on managers who do nothing and we'll be golden.

I am hearing that the severance does not pay out unused PTO. If true and if others can confirm, then use PTO as you accrue them.

The amount of stress this company has caused in the past year to me and my colleagues is unbelievable.

They expect us to work as if everything is ok, while hearing every couple of weeks that someone is laid off.

Today has been an especially difficult day, and I can’t focus on anything. Supposed to leave on holiday on Monday, not knowing whether I’ll have a job to return to.

Getting those lists ready as we really need to make the numbers to show just how much a difference getting a new head honcho is making. Let's make sure to keep it under 50 in every state just so that we don't have to put out any WARN notices, OK?

While we are at it, let's pretend we did something interesting with AI, like a security thing-a-jig that is not AI, but kind of sounds like it is. Or maybe we helped a mid-market company no one has ever heard of doing something wh-z-bang with AI? Yes, that sounds about right. Print it!

And also while no one is paying attention to us (really no one is) let's hire more Cisco folks who are washed up and were on the list for LR (go look it up).

I've been here long enough to have noticed a pattern. Each year, around this time, there are cuts. It's not a massive round, but it's always something. A few people here, a few there, but it always happens like clockwork. If you've been here a while, you know what I'm talking about.

Rumors are about 10,000 people will be affected.

I've been applying and interviewing for months. I get callbacks and interviews, but then all I get is silence. I get ghosted again and again. No rejection email, nothing.
