My manager told us that Optum Care on the west coast lost over a billion dollars last year, and that we have until the end of this year to break even. I can’t help but think that means layoffs.

I just keep refreshing this page on my phone. Productivity this morning is zero.

This is crazy 25% of my team on OT was wiped out. Even offshore employees were let go. I'm guessing they will be replaced by bottom of the barrel contractors. How id everyone else's team doing?

I'm on edge. Everybody around me too. We have no indication at all about how this will go down.

I wish it was already Friday and this was over. Even if I'm on the list. I don't think I'll be able to get any sleep tonight.

No matter how long you've been here, how much knowledge and experience you have, you have the same chance of being laid off as somebody who just joined. Everything you did here in the past decade or however long doesn't matter. And that truly su-ks.
