I was in the corporate world for 18 years and I heard that stupid "reach out" term for 15. It sounds like 'reach out and touch someone' and I wish that term would disintegrate into the trash bin of corporate junk. Reminds me of the AT&T commercial blended with workplace harassment. You can reach out all you want. Who will YOU touch next? And, will that involve HR? You do you.

Seems like you can only get fired for gross misconduct but not from incompetence, at least from what i've seen. Any one know any differently?

11 years of blood sweat and tears and this is how you do me? A solid 5 or 6 of those feverishly cleaning up other peoples compliance messes. Only to be tossed out with the garbage without so much as a thank you.

No there's not reported layoffs because they walk people out the door as soon as they don't like what you have to say or as soon as they need to cut expenses in high paid or long-term employees

Just read that Home Depot did a layoff and had an RTO of 5 days a week.......do we think Fiddelke will announce an RTO? I could see it happening as a way to continue eliminating roles rather than doing mass layoffs????

I was completely blindsided. There was never any indication I'd be considered for layoffs. High performer, never had an issue. Over eight years of a great record. For future reference - nobody, and I mean nobody, is ever safe.

not even sure why i hit my number last quarter. It was a quick three years at Dell..

12 of us fired over the last week, getting rid of their best employees for miniscule reasons. Middle of the busiest time of year for us

At least there was severance provided. So many employees this year got fired for cause (so no benefits no severance not eligible for unemployment). Does the company su-k for this? Certainly. Will they repost our same jobs for 80% less in 6 months. 💯. Take your severance and run. This bank is a sinking ship.

It nice to feel better than the colleagues because the boss like you and pays you more. But when the eggheads at central office start running spreadsheets and who can get cut to save money, you stick out like a sore thumb and an easy choice to cull first.

We were told today that one BD in CA is gone and one in Batavia. Does anyone know if they got laid off or were fired or something? Or if there are more?

Any details if they got any severance / layoff / unemployment packages. Or where they outright fired since they were warned by Lumen that not taking their "similar job offers" with ATT would end this way. Will they have any recourse, has there been more than just AZ.

Can I expect to get fired for cause within the next few days/weeks? Laid off at the next round? Or can I expect a few months to fix this?

Will my manager mark the "do not rehire" box if I am fired for cause? I had meets/exceeds until now, and had a good working relationship with my manager until now. I don't know if that helps.

Should I resign before I'm fired? I have years of savings, and I want to avoid the "do not rehire" box more than I need unemployment, since I assume it shows up on any reference. I can get good references from former managers and coworkers no longer with WF, but I still want a good reference from the company.

Why don't they eliminate all of the satellite offices and remote employees first? There are some directors, senior directors and VPs that hide at home all the time, some that wear the same clothes days on end that are never in the office. They hide with background pictures of their office, and while their leadership knows it, leadership isn't strong enough to do anything about it. So just fire them. If you are not in one of the 3 campuses, then you should not have a job.

The retention bonus should be paid back if the termination was voluntary by the employee. But I was fired. So, do I need to repay it?

We had a guy all of a sudden “leave” our group. We all think he was either fired or laid off but our boss says he will be out “X amount of weeks.” No one believe him. I have been with the bank over 20 years and never heard of someone removed from the system and then put back in when they come back—?! Comments?

I'm in retail, and my boss barely spoke a word to me this week. My guess is he already knows what's coming and knows my name is on the list. Let me tell you, it's not a fun feeling being 99% convinced you're being let go but still having that 1% of hope that you might be wrong.

I’m doing a ok job. My boss thinks I’m not doing enough but I try my best. I make mistakes sometimes but nothing serious. I think my boss is trying to get me fired. Can I get fired for this?

Is anybody else seeing an uptick in firings or is this an isolated incident? I’m spiraling a bit and starting to worry they’ve decided to save on severance by outright kicking people out without anything, so it’d be nice to know that’s not what’s happening here.

Each state should have this dept to file disputes against this place for discrimination. Everyone being fired for random things needs to file and you only have a certain period of time to do so. This place has become so toxic and to dig up reasons to mark people low on performance, change ratings after direct mgrs enter them or even force wfh then use it against you needs to end. For the last 6 months, I've seen so many people getting fired and all very senior management too. Like just boss is not fired. 3 people above them got fired. And the whole team is now getting renamed and all that. The new people even don't know the product and capabilities.
Some people were really great leaders and they were like in BNY for 18 years and so.
I don't think they're firing people in lower level but feeling nervous.

I was included in the layoffs and a team member just informed me that our boss instructed the team to have very minimal if any communication with me at all through the 19th and after as well. Anyone else seeing this? Not sure what the reasoning would be behind it we normally just have friendly conversations. 😔
