Stupid investments like retail threaten real work

Upon examining our retail outlets, I am compelled to express my reservations regarding the investment made in these products. The design appears to be a marketing strategy, potentially conceived by a marketing professional masquerading as a retailer. It is highly probable that these items are underperforming on a substantial scale. This raises the question of why we engage in such investments while simultaneously laying off genuine talent. There is no way these stores will ever compete with Apple. Now that Apple has rumored the imminent release of its AI glasses, it is only a matter of time before this becomes another failure.

Marketing is a JOKE

How do you waste $ when your revenue is declining and customers are leaving?

Hire an alarm call center salesman who claimed to be a “CEO”, make him the “CMO” and give him $ to spend like a drunken sailor.

ML claims to have been a CMO at Wells Fargo at the time they didn’t have an enterprise CMO. Liar and manipulative beyond words.

He runs a cash spending engine and assigns people to the PIP line if you even dare question a business decision.

Lacrozza will be one of the biggest reasons USB will collapse. MC leaders laugh at him and yet don’t know jack.

Gunjan doesn’t have the guts to fix it.

What a joke. And yeah let’s sponsor the NFL - that’s going to be how we fix our pathetic market position.

Great Press Exposure

Lots more news articles and post views generated about this RIF than the total AI tour. Great marketeering.
Add 10k more evangelists to promote the company at their new employers and it’s a total success.
When do companies fail? Too much debt? Negative cash flow? Or when the customers don’t believe they will be here next year?

Marketing emails

Is anyone else receiving marketing emails (who is not a customer) and unable to locate an unsubscribe link on the email? I have been searching and cannot locate it anywhere. I closed my accounts quite some time ago and still getting spammed. The fact that I don’t have an option to unsubscribe is bugging me. Does anyone know how to stop the spam?

Marketing at OpenText is officially over…

After 90% of the MLT was let go in December. Whether you liked them or not everything has gone to sh-t. But today embarks on the official end. The last person standing in Marketing ALedgister was let go. For all of us left in Marketing and are Marketing people, today marks a sad day. She was an amazing leader, she stood up for the right things and defended her people. The global campaign team did not exist before her. She was a fearless leader. Now we’ve been dismantled even more and are stuck with the two worst human beings ever. Marcus and Lindsay are snakes, truly horrible people. From the moment Rita left they planted the seeds and tried to take over. If OpenText stood by what they said when they got rid of the MLT and moved out toxic people and culture why are M&L still here? It’s a sad day when new leaders one, don’t know anything about marketing and two rids those who do just to look smarter. For us who are left, good luck to us, because we are certainly in for a ride.

Corp Medicaid marketing delays?

Anyone else having issues working with the VP of Medicaid Marketing around timelines and execution? Feels like constant delays, wasted budget, and no clear direction. Lots of talk in meetings but when the time comes …nothing actually moves…and later we hear it couldn’t even be done. Starting to wonder if marketing is being phased out again with how little progress there’s been. Seeing this anywhere else?

Dad shoes

Our highly paid creatives couldn’t anticipate the 80’s and 90’s teen loyalists would soon be middle aged and market a dad shoe to them before new balance did? For Christ’s sake, get a clue.

Let’s be real….

We can do tech layoffs, that’s fine. Tech is too bloated.
Unfortunately that’s not going to fix Nike.
We need some hot product and strong marketing. Until that happens, nothing even begins to get better.
Ugly shoes with ba--s on the bottom or Jordan’s with 3 soles are not going to cut the mustard.

Super Bowl Clowns and Linkedin Posts

Look at all the clowns posting on Linked on how wonderful Vz did at the super bowl, no one gives a flying f….k on how ur speeds were….a normal mal customer just wants his phone working and optimal speeds where majority can use internet. Ask these clowns who spent millions in preparation, what is the ROI on such investments. Tmob and ATT know the future at the current times and wont spend money in useless investments, oh well VZ is used to do pointless investments anyways, so not a shocker!!!!!

Interesting Market Reaction to More Human

While the initial reaction may seem positive, looks like investors are wondering why TD pays so much for marketing execs and brand campaigns that are incongruent with reality. TD is not More Human, in fact, internally it is less human than ever.

Halftime Commercial

You have got to be kidding me SF. You walk out of California and then advertise in a California you walked out of. A halftime show that even in California the spectators looked at each other in dismay. Not the SF I once knew. A very woke, Anti America, and lost its way company. SF did not learn from Budweiser. Values create wealth. Wealth does not create values. In short, your marketing is equal to your ethics and values. In the toilet.

Credit where credit's due

Good job, marketing and whoever approved the latest commercial. People hate AI slop so much that making a CGI commercial while directly taking on Coca Cola is the easiest win we've had in a long while. It's been a while since I've seen so much positive chatter online about Pepsi. Good job, whoever was responsible for this.

Marketing Layoffs

Just heard about the reductions over in Marketing. They sent out a new org chart, which I got to see just now. They are getting rid of a lot of senior manager and up, and are expanding offshore support. Anywhere I’ve ever worked that started relying heavily on offshore, has paid the price eventually. If you work at TIAA and are getting a high salary, be very wary. Any of us could be next. Luckily, I’m underpaid for my role so they’ll keep my indentured servitude around for a little longer I bet.
