Fairly new to the company. How do surpluses work and what sort of roles are they targetting

Several people just got notice of their jobs being eliminated, and more layoffs will be announced in July.

But there’s bountiful piles of cash to spend on high profile sports sponsorships that allow the CMO to travel the world and pretend he’s a celebrity.

I recently started seeing few posts on LinkedIn about some people posted about being laid off.. like L3 L4 L5s in engineering, data science etc. anyone noticing anything? I think mgnt figured out a way of staying out of news this year breaking habit of yearly mass layoffs.

They are laying off people from expeditors as of today in Bellevue. At least two known reports on Reddit. /Ask Seattle.

Lot of high profile exits

Interfor decided to indefinitely close its Nairn Centre sawmill. This closure affected 129 mill workers. MPP France Gélinas raised the issue at Queen's Park. She recently met with the displaced employees. A government representative offered a general response.

Erie Mayor Daria Devlin's administration is cutting city jobs. Six city jobs are being cut or vacated. The city faces a $12 million budget deficit for 2027. Expense cuts are also mandated. The administration seeks financial assistance from local entities.

Reporter Jessica Holdman discussed South Carolina business news. A new magnet factory is planned for the Upstate region. However, some layoffs are also expected in the Upstate this summer. New tax breaks will benefit companies converting landfill methane to energy. Additionally, new taxes will be imposed on vape products.

This is Veradigm's third layoff round impacting multiple positions across India and the US.

Whirlpool Corporation announced 288 job cuts. These layoffs affect its Amana, Iowa, manufacturing facility. The company states this is part of a multi-year modernization plan. Second-shift production will cease effective July 5. A law firm is investigating potential federal worker notification violations.

Nearly 300 people shown the door. This is definitely not all, considering that layoffs are supposed to be part of modernization plan announced a few months ago. I'm betting they'll "modernize" even more people out of their jobs before they consider it over. Sad days in Amana.

At the ISP Town Hall last week, during the agenda portion at the beginning the moderator mentioned QA’s and a meeting pulse. Eric said “you’re not going to allow 4-1 questions right?” Leadership in the room all giggled. Then he said “gas prices are high, can we go to 3-2, what an absurd question”. So dismissive and out of touch with the everyday employee at his firm. He’s referencing the Rob sharps town hall last month when him and the MC dodged all questions regarding RTO. Not everyone can afford a personal driver and a nanny while he leads a company into layoff after layoff, a crashing stock price etc.

If you are at FIS, just assume you are on the chopping block no matter what. Good performance, glowing reviews, even being tight with your manager, none of it matters. You are a number in a spreadsheet and the moment it gets too high for comfort, they will show you the door. Better to accept that now than get blindsided later.

Layoffs are inevitable- but does anyone know for sure if financial crimes will be affected this month for layoffs?

It stupid to have security under FTS/FAST to begin with. I don’t get it!…MD and that CIO guy were two of the worst hires in the history of the company. Idk think they know what they were doing.
He only did a year then left!…he wanted everything to be engineers. Nonsense

The way leadership picks who gets cut here is totally random and makes zero sense. They've let go of some really talented people plus newer folks, and none of it seems to follow any pattern.

We barely have layoffs anymore. Yes, there are PIPs, but if you're good and a high-performer, you have nothing to be worried about. Frankly, I've never felt safer here than I do right now.

Fresh 1-year lows on the stock. Morale at all time lows. Employee trust at multi-year lows.

Yet somehow we’re still talking about badge swipes, presence reports, and where people are sitting.

The market is asking for execution. Leadership keeps responding with attendance nobody cares about.

I really, really want to leave US Bank, but I'm wondering if it's safe to join a place that obviously is not shy about cuts. Has anyone here taken a job at a company that recently had layoffs? Would you do it again?

I am new here but already getting the sense that layoffs are just part of the deal. I'm trying to figure out if this is something people always stress over or if it comes in waves and then fades.

We all know it's coming and we know they'll do anything to cut labor as much as possible. All of us here have an expiration date.

Looks like the fat is finally being trimmed. Few managers have joined back as technical ICs while several have been impacted in the Cx delivery org. If you don’t contribute technically, being just a people manager is not good anymore.

We're the ones who usually pay the price whenever costs need cutting. Seeing others being hit for a change is a bit refreshing. No hate but it's about time.

I keep seeing coworkers bail for jobs that pay way less. Nobody even tries to match their old salary anymore because things have become that miserable here. That's how low we have fallen.
