Drowning PC’s
Are they really expecting each PC to handle ALL the financials for every customer going forward starting next month? I’m drowning with one as it is. A job isn’t worth this much stress.
Is Paramount actually Lumon from Severance?
Just read this... it's giving "waffle party" energy from severance. They really think going out for coffee is going to make us ok with going in five days per week? Do they think we're stupid?
Managers who encounter resistance to RTO should help their team bond by inviting them "out for a coffee or lunch, or hold a team-building activity," Paramount said in an "RTO People Leader Toolkit" obtained by Business Insider.
Bosses who can't think of a way to unite their team can turn to AI, the document said: "You can also prompt Microsoft Copilot: give me examples of team-building activities."
"Strong relationships build trust, help people feel part of a community, and enhance well-being," the document said.
The talent pool has dried up
Fiserv used to have its pick of top candidates. Now the pay and benefits are so poor that only the people who can't get hired elsewhere will take jobs here. Half the workforce is undervalued and it shows in the quality of new hires.
Lack of basics in MSP location
You'd think that when the big wigs demand RTO, they'd at least supply you with the basics in the office.
No plates in the dining area for a week now, but the corporate propaganda "Our values" banner is flying proudly
When does this stop?
The constant fear of layoffs has ruined my weekends. I'm not even happy it's Friday, since I spend the whole time dreading Monday morning. I need to know if we'll ever get back to a normal work environment without this constant stress hanging over us. Enough is enough.
Why
Why does anyone work here anymore? I can't wait to be laid off or quit, hoping for the former! Wasn't today walk out day? If you get fired do you still have to pay back sign on bonus?
Seeking advice
I am in non hub and not told to move yet and I am unable to make up my mind whether to move or not. I casually applied for jobs and I am close to getting an offer. My best guess is 25K lower and it involves a 3 day 1 hour commute each week for life. I can’t move closer to new workplace due to kids schooling and my spouse might quit. We have no home to sell.
Should I. A. Uproot my family while spouse quits and go to Plano to start fresh on my own? B. Take the new job, spouse quits and settle down where I am? C. Reject new offer, keep renting and continue the grind unless told to move?
There are personal and financial challenges for each decision and I got no comfort in any of these options. Any advice if you have gone through something similar?
Question for RCDN folks only
When are the buildings going to reopen? I kinda miss office experience
Tracking RTO
If youre going to track hours of employees complying with RTO and "fire" them for not making 6 or more hours a day then fire the remote employees first because it's completely unfair they arent under the same scrutiny.
Constant texting on day off for MTM and STM
Are you being harassed on day off ?
Store manager texts getting out of hand. Phone going off every five minutes
No training
I am going to enjoy life till June 30th.
Not going to train my replacement. All my skills will go with me.
Bye Lousy Job
I never realized how hard the hours worked and weekend on calls were… not for me but my wife. She is fortunate enough to have a job that is pretty much 8-4 everyday.
She never complained when, during the lockdown, about the times I was at my home office desk and she had to bring me a plate of food for dinner. It seems I was never on time for an afterwork appt or meeting. I’ll never forget the time that I was nearly fired for not taking an on-call weekend because my sister was getting married. The boss knew about this four months in advance.
On my last day, a Saturday, I promised to be home on time. And I was. She met me at the door dressed like we were going to a fancy restaurant. She hugged me being careful not o muss her makeup (An inside joke) the scent of her perfume was soon taking a backseat to another of my favorite aromas. She had spent the day making my favorite dish, lasagna with home baked bread and carrot cake for dessert.
I started a new Job a month later. Lower pay, but better hours. That following Saturday I made her favorite dinner.
It’s funny, but it took a layoff to get me to realize what a lousy job I had but more importantly, what a lucky man I am to have such a wife.
Can we breathe yet?
Has the latest round definitely wrapped up? I'm hoping we can get back to normal work without constantly wondering who is next.
And now we wait for the next round
No rest, no relaxation, no relief...now we start figuring out when the next round will happen because we all know there'll be a next round. I hate it here.
How many hours are you actually working?
Be honest... how many real hours are you working per week?
Not meetings or being online… actual focused work. 10? 15?
I think most people spend their time in meetings instead of actually working.
Worst org leadership !!!
No other org leadership in the world will treat their employees this badly !! No transparency and courage to support or atleast be honest about what's going on. While M and up taking all the benefits, proactively switching orgs to save their jobs the real hard working ICs are still in the dark. All this company cared is just for M and M only !!
What exactly happens if a someone does not take the Voluntary Retirement Program? Laid off anyway?
This happened to my team mbr. IIRC he was in his 70s. During the final meeting, he said he enjoyed the work and he literally said he wanted to work longer, but he got the hint from the VRP.
What would have happened if he didn't take VRP? Laid off anyway the next round?
What did you automate with AI today?
Did you use AI today? Did you automate your job so we can fire you?
4/5 Compromise
We're all in agreement to only work 4/5 days a week and only put forth 80% effort right? for those who havent quiet quit already please do so and stop taking this job seriously. stop slacking ppl, stop scheduling meetings, just ktlo because that is exactly what kkr and elt are doing.
I'm curious
How many are planning to quit rather than being transferred? I see several people mentioning that's what they're going to do, so I'm just wondering how prevalent that is.
EMPLOYEES DO NOT WANT TO RETURN TO THE OFFICE
They will loose too many employees by forcing time back in the office. Employees have to many advantages by working from home. Less time on the road, less money spent on gas, clothes, food, less wear on vehicle, etc. They can have repairs, deliveries, etc, taken care of without taking time off. They have their own private bathroom and can make lunch at home. There is absolutely no benefit to the employees for being in office. Neither is it a benefit for the employer. Just a micromanagement tool disquised by colorful language like "collaboration" bs.
RTO enforced unevenly
RTO 3/4 days a week: some managers in Risk are not enforcing it, letting their good butt buddy cronies slide. Why bother commuting for nothing but Teams meetings, when the guy next to me is getting a pass?
Wells Fargo is no longer a meritocracy, its a cronyocracy.
ALL TALK /FAKE PEOPLE
wow some people aren’t a man of the word , been saying they wanted to get laid off acting like they are financially all set but they are not , they end up getting laid off saying they are so happy because they hate the place , and would never go back , but they do go back because it’s easy and they will be working until they are 80. ALL TALK
Will TIAA follow JPM and mandate 5 days/wk in office?
I heard this is coming in late 2026
How is Remote Day Tracked?
If I badge into the office, is that a day in the office, even if I also have logged in at home and had to authenticate through PingID on the same day?
Be sure to leave a nice review on Glassdoor
Tell people how you really feel about the CEO and the work life
Work life balance?
How are we handling work life balance with the new in office requirement? My child is starting kindergarten next year and I’m not sure how to handle the 8 hour in office rule. I previously planned to just pick him up then work from home for a few hours. I have child care, but I’m responsible for the pick up and drop off. The school schedule does not align with work at all. My partner and I already work opposite shifts for daycare drop off and pick up. But the school schedule is much harder to accommodate. Honestly, don’t tell me to hire chauffeur. How do people with kids do it?
I know this isn’t layoff related but I’m not sure who to ask,
I'm tired of hearing about being happy to have a job
People talk like it's the most important thing, but nobody talks about what it costs you. The sleepless nights, the constant knot in your stomach, the way you carry the weight of this place into every part of your life. So yes, having a job is good, but don't tell me I should be grateful for something that's making me miserable.
The working six days a week flex is weird
A coworker tried to one-up me for being tired after four days because they grind six days straight. That's such a weird flex. Cool, you give all your time to State Farm and have no free time and I do. I'll take my energy and my weekend over whatever that competition is supposed to prove.
Asking to be laid off
Is it possible to just ask to be laid off? We all know it's coming, is there a way we can just be added to the top of the list? My manager says there isn't a list, I dont believe him
I'd rather enjoy my summer than worry about if I'm next every other week.

Self-promotion gets you promoted at 3M
This video describes perfectly the type of people who advance at 3M. Hint: not those who work the hardest neither the ones who deliver results.

Fuel Cost, The Environment, or RTO...
Which of these does AT&T actually care about?
Silly question, we already know. Sure, fuel is expensive but people are even more expensive. Think about this, one mediocre L2 PM can cost the company upwards of $200k. That's 40,000 gallons of fuel necessary to keep our fiber team doing the only thing we can do to make money.
If the federal government were to issue an emergency order requiring companies to reduce road and air travel by 1/3rd in exchange for other tax incentives, you can bet you're behind AT&T would jump on board. Remember, Stankey's AT&T is all about the dividends. 100% RTO and relo are severance-free layoffs. Fewer employees = more free cash = better dividends.
States have spent billions on trying to keep drivers off the roads. Companies like AT&T could not care less. The environment is only an issue when it is trending. Just think, in the DFW metroplex, we have millions of cars on our roads every day. A 30 mile trip in your car produces upwards of 25 pounds of CO2 gas. So, 1,000,000 cars produce 25 Million lbs of CO2 gas, every 30 miles! Think AT&T gives a shot? Nope. There's no money in it. They are like little parrots saying "return to work, return to work, return to work"
So, we can complain or we can find other jobs. And, despite the loser narrative, there are jobs. Its just that working at AT&T is bad for business. We aren't exactly in the 'highly sought after' category. Fact is, AT&T loses a lot of smart people every day. Smart people find jobs. Most of us, however, stay because this is an easy ride for ridiculous $$$. We all know it, so let's be honest. Who here actually works a solid 20 hours a week? Do you really think AT&T doesn't know that they have created a company of slackers?
Fuel Cost, Pollution, or Lazy Employees working from home; which one do you think AT&T cares most about?
Moving pulse point locations
Hello all! I am waiting for my manager to return from PTO so thought I would ask her till then as I am freaking out. My current assigned pulse point and where I live is Indy. However, my husband matched for a residency program in Galveston, TX. That is very near Houston tx which is why my husband applied there but that pulse point suddenly closed. Do you think the company will understand and let me be fully remote?
Ford is more than just a bad job
I left a while ago, but oh my God did the stress not stop when I did. Working there, I stopped sleeping, stopped taking care of myself. Almost a year later and I'm still working to feel normal again, even with a much better and less toxic job. Ford leaves a mark.
This is no way to live
It's Saturday and all I can think about is layoffs. And it's been like this for months. I hate Oracle for this. I used to be able to enjoy life. A job shouldn't take that away from me, but here we are.
